The rising trend in some countries is that more and more people are becoming interested in finding out about the history of the house or building they live in, further in this article we will discuss some of its reasons and how people research this.

This trend started mainly because of social media as some people started posting about the rich or grim history of house they are residing in, this inturn led to more and more people getting curious about their own residence. This became a conversation starter in gatherings of some countries which inturn led to more people participating in this trend.

The historical meaning of this trend made people feel more connected to their roots and made them feel they belonged to somewhere, this feeling of belonging helped spread this trend evenmore creating a virtous cycle. This trend is more popular in developed countries as compared to the developing ones, the reason for that is that huge population in developing countries still live in their ancestral homes because of lower rate of urbanisation.

There are several ways in which people can research about their homes, the use of the internet comes first among those ways as there are alot of different website through which you can find the history of your house or building, you can use social media to connect to the former owner of your residence. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the reasons behind the trend and the methods for researching building history, which places it securely in this band. The ideas presented are generally relevant, such as the influence of social media and the desire to feel connected to roots. However, some ideas are underdeveloped or lacking in specific detail. For instance, the explanation of how social media sparked this interest could be extended with a concrete example, and the distinction regarding developed versus developing countries lacks support. To reach a higher level, the writer needs to fully develop all parts of the prompt with extended explanations and well-supported examples rather than generalized statements.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a clear progression from introduction to body paragraphs discussing reasons, methods of research, and a concluding thought. Paragraphing is utilized to separate major topics, such as transitioning from the causes of the trend to the research methods in the fourth paragraph. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical and overly reliant on comma splices and basic linking words like 'this inturn led to' and 'the second way is'. Referencing is not always entirely clear, leading to run-on sentences that blur logical connections. To improve, the writer should use a wider variety of cohesive devices more flexibly and employ accurate punctuation to mark boundaries between clauses.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully communicating everyday ideas related to housing and historical research. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'virtuous cycle' and 'urbanisation', although some word choices and collocations feel slightly unnatural, like 'historical meaning' instead of 'historical significance' or 'grim history of house'. Spelling is generally accurate, and word-choice errors do not impede communication. To move up to the next band, the writer should incorporate a wider selection of less common lexical items with precise control over collocation, style, and word formation.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The writing displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over structure. However, there are persistent structural issues, notably run-on sentences joined entirely by commas, such as 'This trend started mainly because of social media as some people started posting...'. There are also minor errors in articles, prepositions, and singular-plural agreement, such as 'history of house' and 'lot of different website'. These errors do not seriously impede communication, but they occur with enough regularity to prevent the text from achieving a higher level of grammatical accuracy and variety. A greater variety of error-free complex sentences and careful punctuation control are required for further progress.
