Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
Your response addresses the task only partially, and importantly, the length requirement is not met as the text contains 155 words, falling 95 words short of the 250-word minimum. Additionally, 11 words copied directly from the task prompt were not counted. Regarding the content, you mention reasons such as human curiosity and potential property value increases, and touch briefly on researching via old people and books. However, your ideas remain limited and under-developed. To reach a higher band, you need to fully develop both parts of the prompt with extended explanations and examples, and ensure you meet the minimum word count.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
Your writing shows some organization, but there is no clear overall progression of ideas, and paragraphing is underdeveloped. You attempt to separate your ideas into three short paragraphs, but the logical links between sentences are frequently faulty and repetitive. For example, the transition between sentences relies heavily on repeating words like 'people' and 'history' without smooth cohesive devices. Pronoun referencing is also unclear at times, such as 'the it will the trademark'. To improve, you should use a wider and more accurate range of cohesive devices and structure your paragraphs so that each develops a single, clear central theme with logical progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
Your vocabulary range is limited but minimally adequate to convey your basic points. You make noticeable errors in word choice and word form, such as using 'Curiousity' instead of curiosity, 'wittnessed' instead of witnessed, and awkward phrasing like 'visiting support'. There are also spelling errors like 'bluiding'. These errors cause some difficulty for the reader and impede smooth communication. To move up to the next band, you should aim to expand your vocabulary range, incorporate less common lexical items accurately, and carefully check your spelling and word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
Your grammar demonstrates a very limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple sentences with frequent attempts at complex structures that are faulty. You make frequent errors in grammar, prepositions, articles, and verb forms, which cause difficulty for the reader. Examples include 'regarding to anything the a part', 'places were they live', 'People starting research this', and 'the prices of the property increased and the it will the trademark'. These persistent errors strain comprehension. To achieve a higher band, you must improve your control over basic sentence patterns, verb tenses, and prepositions while producing a greater mix of accurate complex sentences.
