Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response addresses the task only minimally, as the ideas are heavily restricted, repetitive, and lack clear development. While the writer attempts to mention reasons for researching a building's history, such as memories and old age, and suggests general methods of addressing this research, the explanations remain tangential and underdeveloped. The content consists largely of isolated thoughts and circular phrasing rather than a well-supported discussion. To move forward, the writer needs to clearly separate distinct reasons, such as architectural heritage or personal nostalgia, and provide concrete, well-explained examples for each part of the prompt without excessive repetition.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

Information and ideas are not arranged coherently throughout the essay. The response is divided into paragraphs, but the internal logical progression is severely disrupted by confusing connections and repetitive phrasing. Transitional devices are either missing or misused, making it very difficult for the reader to follow a clear line of argument. Referencing is frequently unclear, as seen in the frequent reuse of vague pronouns and phrases like 'the house and the building' without proper contextual links. To improve coherence, the writer should focus on organizing distinct points into separate, logical paragraphs with clear topic sentences and accurate transitional markers.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, employing a very limited range of words that often strain the reader's understanding. There are frequent errors in word choice, collocation, and word formation, such as writing 'intrested', 'reseach', 'infrastracture', and 'perious' instead of 'precious'. Less common vocabulary is attempted awkwardly, resulting in unnatural phrases that impede communication. To achieve a higher band, the writer must expand their vocabulary range, learn the correct forms and spellings of common academic terms, and use words with greater precision and stylistic awareness.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

The grammatical range is very limited, consisting mostly of poorly constructed sentences where errors are frequent and often distort the meaning. The text contains severe issues with basic sentence structures, subject-verb agreement, verb forms, and articles, as illustrated by fragments and run-on sentences like 'there are several reason why is incresing number of individuals are very crucial'. Punctuation is also erratic, which further hinders readability. To progress, the writer needs to focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring that every sentence has a clear subject and verb, and systematically reducing the frequency of fundamental grammatical errors.
