Student answer (Band 5.5)
The desire and curiosity of searching for the history of the houses or buildings have been observed in many individuals around the globe. It is particularly because of many reasons, just to quote one example, it could be a hope to find some fortune digged deep in their homes.
There are several reasons which convince people to dig for the history of buildings. For instance, some might believe that ancestors previously staying here, might have hiden treasure beneath it or they look for any suspicious happening in the past to confirm, whether it is a safe place to stay or not. Many are afraid of ghosts, so whenever they choose a place to live, they always check and verify details of the previous owners.
In present time, there are many ways to look for history, as the technology has advanced to much extent. People can check the official documents of house to verify previous ownership status, and when did they sell and left this property, Moreover, they can verify from official government websites or applications available on a single click in their smart phones. Watchmen also play a pivotal role in this investigation as they know all the myths that are not indicated in official documents.
Overall, many individuals inquire and verify about previous ownership data and all unsual things happened in their houses and buildings previously. This trend is increasing in many countries as everyone has his own reason and doubts which thrives them to clear every reason and doubt which haunts them.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses both questions: it suggests reasons such as hopes of finding treasure, concerns about past events, and fear of ghosts, then mentions property records, government websites, and watchmen as research sources. These ideas are relevant, but several are asserted rather than explained. For example, the link between checking previous owners and deciding whether a home is safe is not developed, and the role of watchmen is mentioned without showing how their accounts could be verified. The answer also relies on a narrow set of reasons and research methods, so the discussion remains limited and some points are unclear. Explain the motivations more fully and give a concrete example of how a person could investigate a building’s history.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph on reasons, a paragraph on research, and a conclusion. This gives the reader a basic route through the answer. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes weak, and connections between ideas can feel mechanical. The opening sentence introduces curiosity, then moves quickly to treasure without clearly setting up the discussion. In the reasons paragraph, the ideas about ancestors, suspicious events, and ghosts are placed together but not clearly distinguished or linked. The conclusion repeats previous ownership and unusual events rather than drawing the two parts together. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example explicitly to the main point it supports.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “previous ownership,” “official documents,” “government websites,” and “pivotal role.” There is also some attempt to use less common expressions, such as “dig for the history.” However, several choices or forms are inaccurate or unnatural, including “digged,” “hiden,” “unsual,” and “thrives them,” and phrases such as “verify from official government websites” are not idiomatic. Repetition of “reason,” “doubt,” and “history” also limits the range. Aim for precise, natural collocations and check spelling and word forms; for example, use “research a property’s history” rather than “dig for the history,” and “motivate them” rather than “thrives them.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts some complex structures, including “whenever they choose a place to live” and “as the technology has advanced,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in sentence boundaries and punctuation are frequent: the opening runs directly into “It is particularly,” and the sentence beginning “For instance” contains an awkwardly placed comma and an unclear clause. There are also problems with verb forms and tense, as in “when did they sell and left this property,” and with sentence construction in “which thrives them to clear every reason.” These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Practise building accurate complex sentences, especially indirect questions and clauses, and use full stops to separate complete ideas.
