Student answer (Band 4.5)
In some countries, many individual are becoming facinating in finding out about the history of the house or building they live in. The main reason is that some individual are facinating about where they live or if they purchased a house they need a cultural houses and individual research first through online platforms so that they can aware what the history of the house. Moreover, individual like to lived in a comfortabe and a famous area.
This is argue that few individual need to research the history of the house this is because they want a comfortable and safety household, for example they see a detailes, materials, and the area so that there family is comfortable to lived there.
On the other hand, other situition is they want a historical house because they want to preserve the culture of the ancient people this is because in the present days its a rare to see a cultural house however it is cost to purchase a historical house. For instance, in the philippines there is a lot of historical houses almost of the wealthy people purchased an ancient house because they make it a businesss so that they can earn.
In conclusion, I believe it is crucial to preserve a history so that new generations can adopt to preserve the house that ancient individual made it.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
The response identifies possible reasons for interest in a building’s past, including wanting a comfortable home and preserving cultural heritage, and gives a Philippine example of historic houses being used as businesses. However, it addresses the research part only briefly: online platforms are mentioned, but no clear methods or sources are explained. Several ideas are difficult to follow, and the conclusion focuses on preservation rather than summarising both reasons and research methods. The response contains 210 words, which is 40 words below the 250-word minimum; 14 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. To strengthen the response, explain each reason clearly and describe practical research sources, such as local archives, property records, libraries, or previous owners.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has a basic paragraph structure, with an introduction, separate body paragraphs, and a conclusion. It also uses linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “On the other hand,” and “For instance,” to signal relationships between ideas. However, progression is not consistently clear: the first paragraph combines reasons, online research, and comfort, while the second begins “This is argue” without a clear connection to the preceding point. Repeated “this is because” constructions make the links mechanical, and references such as “they” and “it” are sometimes unclear. Organise the essay around the two task questions—reasons first, research methods second—and use clearer topic sentences and more precise referencing.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The response uses some relevant vocabulary, including “historical house,” “preserve the culture,” “materials,” and “ancient people,” so the reader can identify the general subject. However, the range is basic and repetitive, with “individual,” “house,” and “history” recurring, and several inaccurate word choices or forms make meaning less clear. For example, “becoming facinating” does not express the intended idea naturally, while “cultural houses” and “a famous area” are imprecise in context. Spelling errors such as “comfortabe,” “situition,” and “businesss” also detract from clarity. Build a more precise range for discussing research and heritage, and check spelling and collocations when editing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts some longer sentences using “because,” “so that,” and “for example,” but control is inconsistent, and many sentences contain errors that make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Examples include “many individual are,” “they want a comfortable and safety household,” and “there family is comfortable to lived there,” which show problems with agreement, word forms within sentence patterns, and verb forms. Sentence boundaries and punctuation also need attention: the opening paragraph contains several ideas joined into one long sentence, and “This is argue that few individual need to research” is not a clear grammatical construction. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then combine related ideas with subordinate clauses and check agreement, articles, and verb forms.
