Student answer (Band 5.5)

In the contemporary world, house has a significant value in people's lives. People reach out of their fianacial capacity to purchase or build a house or have a house in good building or society. The house or building are their place to be and feel safe. There are numerous reasons that make people keen to know about the history of the house or building they reside in.

The majoy reason is safety. People who know the history of the house or building feel more safer than the people who are not aware of it. The information about history can provide them sense of safety. Additionally, people want to know about any previous incidents that can put a negative impact on their lives or future. Furthermore, it can be related with their personal beliefs. Some people belief that the house holds the memories of previous time or its history. For instance, if someone commit suicide in the house or building, some people believe that spirit of that person stays in the same house or building. Knowing the history of the house or building can help them make a decision whether to live there or not or find the solution.

Other reason is social media. Social media spread positive or negative news in just a few minutes. Now a days, people get influenced by such news and become keen to know the history of their own house. For instance, I saw a post on social media that a girl claims that the house she is renting is haunted and that made many people keen to know the history of their house.

People can research online about the house or the building and any information associated with it. People can also get information from the locals who are residing their for longer time. Furthermore, people can get information from previous owners or resident of that house or building.

In the nutshell, people has vaious reasons and ways to conduct a research about the history of thehouse or building. It is great idea to know about the place we are living in. It can provide sense of safety and security to the people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both questions: safety and personal beliefs are offered as reasons, and online searches, local residents, and previous owners are suggested as research sources. The examples about a suicide and a social-media post make the ideas relevant, and your overall view that researching a home can provide security is clear. However, the reasons are not equally well explained. The social-media point is asserted rather than showing clearly why it leads people to investigate their own homes, and the research methods are listed without explaining how someone might use them or what records to seek. Develop each point with a specific explanation or example, and clarify the link between the reason and the behaviour.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction is followed by reasons, research methods, and a conclusion. Paragraphs generally have clear purposes, and signposts such as “Additionally,” “Furthermore,” and “For instance” help readers follow the discussion. However, some connections feel mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “Furthermore” and “For instance,” while “Other reason is social media” does not clearly connect this point to the preceding discussion of safety and beliefs. References such as “it” and “that” can also be vague. Improve progression by grouping related reasons, using a wider range of natural transitions, and making the relationship between each example and its main point explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “previous incidents,” “personal beliefs,” “previous owners,” and “residing,” which helps communicate the subject. However, the range is limited by repeated phrases such as “house or building,” “history,” and “people,” and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate: “reach out of their financial capacity,” “feel more safer,” and “holds the memories of previous time.” Spelling errors such as “fianacial,” “majoy,” and “vaious” are noticeable and reduce precision. Aim for more natural expressions and vary key terms—for example, use “property,” “former occupants,” or “historical records” where appropriate. Proofreading spelling and checking collocations would make your meaning clearer and more fluent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a mixture of simple and more complex sentences, including conditional structures such as “if someone commit suicide” and clauses beginning “that can put a negative impact.” These attempts show some range, but complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. Examples include “house has a significant value” (missing an article), “The house or building are” (subject–verb agreement), “people belief” (verb form), and “people has” in the conclusion. There are also problems with plurals and sentence construction, as in “previous owners or resident.” Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and correctly matched verb, and review articles and singular/plural forms before using longer structures.
