Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You make an attempt to address both questions: you suggest that people want to learn about the past and mention research through the internet, libraries, older residents, books, news channels and guides. The Golden Temple example also gives the response a relevant personal detail. However, the reasons for this growing interest are not clearly explained, and most research methods are listed rather than described. The example focuses on a temple rather than the history of a home or building someone lives in, so its connection to the task is limited. The response also does not meet the required minimum length, which leaves both parts of the question substantially underdeveloped. Explain a few reasons and methods in detail, using examples directly related to researching a residence.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5

There is a basic attempt to move from reasons to research methods, and linking expressions such as “moreover” and “furthermore” show an effort to connect points. The personal example also provides a possible organising idea. However, the response is presented as one long, loosely connected sequence, with no clear paragraphing or consistent progression. Several ideas are repeated, including that the new generation is interested in finding building history, while abrupt shifts—from the Golden Temple to online tools, news channels and filming—make the relationships between points unclear. Some connectors are used mechanically rather than to show a precise relationship. Separate the response into paragraphs for reasons and research methods, and develop each point in a logical order with clear links.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some task-related vocabulary, including “history,” “library,” “information,” “guide” and “research,” and the reader can generally identify the topic. There are also attempts to use more specific terms such as “foreigners” and “vlogs.” However, the vocabulary is basic and repetitive, and frequent spelling and word-form errors make parts difficult to understand, for example “bulding,” “researced,” “libarary,” “interesed” and “knowleges.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, such as “collected knowleges” and “given information.” Build a more accurate range for discussing historical research, and check spelling and collocations carefully. For example, use “gather information” and “consult historical records” rather than repeating “find” and “information.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts a few longer structures, including “because” clauses and the sentence beginning “with the help of guide,” but most sentences follow a very simple pattern and control is inconsistent. Errors in verb forms and sentence construction occur throughout, as in “people went to visited” and “i was start researched.” Articles, agreement and plurals are also often missing or inaccurate, while sentence boundaries and capitalisation are unreliable. These problems sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine related ideas with clauses such as “because” and “which.” Check past-tense forms, articles and subject–verb agreement, and use full stops to separate complete ideas.
