Student answer (Band 6.0)

In recent years, an increasing number of people have become interested in learning about the history of the houses or buildings they live in. This essay will discuss the main reasons behind this trend and explain how people can research the history of their properties.

There are several reasons why people want to discover the history of their properties. One of the significant reason is curiosity. To explain it, they want to know about how lived in their house in the past and what changes taken over the years. Apart from this, another major reason is that historical changes can increase the value of the property, and attract buyers for architectural information. For example, there were some house in the china which was built many years ago and researchers came to know about the history of those apartments. As a result, it increases the actual rate of the property and attract buyers all over the globe.

There are numerous method to research these buildings. One of the most efficient method is that people can get information from municipal office and as well as from admin buildings where they can check all history and papers of property. Another effective way is that individual can ask from the neighbors who live near to that historical house and can also ask about who lived last time in that property and also get details from some online websites. For instance there are some online platforms where individuals can get knowledge about the history and significance of their house in which they lived in.

In conclusion, there are several reasons like curiosity and increasing rate of property and as well as intrust in cultural heritage. People can research this from local government and also from websites in internet

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses both questions: it gives reasons for interest in a property’s past and suggests research through municipal offices, neighbours and online sources. Curiosity is relevant, and the link between historical significance and property value is also explained with an example. However, some ideas are less fully developed than others. The China example is vague and does not clearly show how the research was conducted or why the building’s history attracted buyers. Cultural heritage appears only in the conclusion, without explanation in the main body. To strengthen the response, develop each reason with a clear explanation and a specific, relevant example, and explain what records or information each research method can provide.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The essay has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for reasons and research methods, and a conclusion. The progression from curiosity and property value to practical research options is easy to follow. Linking phrases such as “Apart from this,” “For example,” and “In conclusion” help signal relationships between ideas, and the response sustains a central focus. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear, particularly “and as well as” in the conclusion and the repeated use of “also” in the research paragraph. The example about China is not smoothly connected to the claim it is meant to support. Use a wider range of precise referencing and transitions, and make sure each example clearly follows from the point it illustrates.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The response uses enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate its main ideas, including “historical changes,” “architectural information,” “municipal office,” and “cultural heritage.” There are also attempts to use more formal expressions, such as “efficient method” and “significance.” However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or repetitive, which limits precision: “attract buyers for architectural information” does not express the intended relationship clearly, and “get knowledge” is less natural than a suitable alternative. There are also noticeable word-form and spelling errors, including “intrust” for “interest.” Aim to learn common collocations for property research and use more precise terms for records, ownership and historical features.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The essay includes both simple sentences and attempts at more complex structures, such as “One of the significant reason is curiosity” and the sentence beginning “For example.” The main message remains understandable, but grammatical control is uneven, and errors sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Examples include “how lived in our house,” “what changes taken over the years,” and “There are numerous method,” which show problems with clause structure, verb forms and agreement. Articles and plurals also need attention, as in “some house” and “one of the most efficient method.” Practise building accurate clauses with subjects and verbs, and check agreement and article use when editing. Greater accuracy in these patterns would make the ideas clearer.
