Student answer (Band 5.0)

The peoples are becoming interested in finding out about the history of house or building they live in because they want to know about their house history for show off on social media and on the internet.

Todays generation have some type of curosity about everything , all time they think about everything why is this and what is this they want to find the all answer in theirs mind and if they find anything intresting and crazy they upload this on social media for show off and attention.

For example i have a real life experience about my school building , I completed my senior secondary from Anglo Arabic Senior Secondary School , these is a beautifil building at Ajmeri Gate New Delhi always i have curosity about my school when my school build and in which year then I do research on my shcool history on internet or Artifical Intelligence like chatGPT or Gemini.

Todays generation research everything on maps , internet , AI and goverment Webistes. if they want to know about anything teenagers always use first internet and AI. unfortunately most of the time listing , time and year of build any building record found on government websites and teenagers find them. One time when i applied for my voter Id card so from asking me about me and my parents history and generate a little curosity in my mind about my last few generation history and want to know about my family home history and i searched on internet and asking my parents about this and i found it.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both questions: you suggest that people are curious and want to share discoveries for attention, and you mention researching online, through AI, government websites, and family members. The school and family-home examples make the response relevant. However, the reasons are narrow and not fully explained; the focus on social-media “show off” does not explore other plausible motivations, such as understanding a building’s heritage or checking its past ownership. The research methods are listed, but their usefulness is not clearly explained, and the voter-ID example shifts toward family history rather than the history of a house. Develop each part with a clearer explanation and a directly relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has separate paragraphs for reasons, a personal example, and research methods, so there is some organisation. However, the progression is not consistently clear: the final paragraph moves from research methods to voter registration and then family history without showing how these points connect to researching a building. Linking words are limited, and repeated references to “today’s generation” and “internet” make the development feel repetitive. Use a clearer sequence—reasons first, then practical research methods—and connect examples explicitly to the point they support. Within paragraphs, use pronouns and transitions carefully so readers can follow who or what each sentence refers to.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-related vocabulary, including “curiosity,” “government websites,” “building,” and “research,” and the reader can generally understand your main ideas. However, the range is limited, with repeated everyday terms such as “everything,” “history,” and “internet.” Several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, including “for show off,” “listing, time and year of build,” and “generate a little curiosity.” Spelling errors such as “curosity,” “intresting,” and “webistes” also make the writing less precise. Build a more varied set of expressions for historical research and use standard collocations, while checking spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a sentence beginning “because” and a conditional structure with “if they want to know.” However, the longer sentences are often difficult to follow because of errors in sentence boundaries, agreement, articles, and verb forms. For example, “The peoples are becoming interested” has an agreement and article problem, while “when my school build” does not use the correct verb form. Several sentences run together without appropriate punctuation, particularly the final paragraph. Practise building accurate sentences around one main idea, then add subordinate clauses and check tense, subject–verb agreement, and punctuation before combining ideas.
