Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You attempt to address both questions, but the reasons are not clearly explained and the research methods receive only brief treatment. The idea that people want to recognise their elders’ efforts is relevant, while contacting grandparents, consulting family documents and checking a nameplate are useful ways to investigate a building’s past. However, the response does not explain other possible motivations or show how these methods could provide reliable information. The final sentence gives a general opinion rather than developing an answer. The response is also 32 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to explain and support your ideas. Develop each reason and research method with a specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some basic organisation: the response begins with an introduction, separates ideas into two body paragraphs and ends with a concluding opinion. Linking expressions such as “Furthermore” and “However” show an attempt to connect points. However, the overall progression is difficult to follow because the paragraph purposes are not consistently clear: the first body paragraph mixes admiration for elders with construction difficulties, while the second combines research methods and a general conclusion. Some transitions are inaccurate or repetitive, including “In the one hand” and “One the other hands.” Use a clear topic sentence for each paragraph, group related points together, and connect each example directly to the reason or method it supports.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
Your vocabulary includes some relevant topic words, such as “constructed,” “documents,” “name plates” and “resources,” so the reader can identify the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices, collocations and spellings make meaning less clear. For example, “interested to explore” is not a natural collocation, “past knowledge” does not express the intended idea clearly, and “short revenues” is difficult to interpret. There are also frequent spelling errors, including “reseasons,” “thier” and “modren.” Aim to use precise phrases for motivations and research sources, and check spelling carefully. More accurate topic vocabulary would help you explain your ideas without relying on repeated forms of “people” and “house.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a question about how people managed construction and a sentence beginning “However.” Nevertheless, grammatical errors are frequent and sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. Examples include “many of them are find,” “People gives credit,” and “people were struggled,” where verb forms or subject–verb agreement are incorrect. Articles, plurals and sentence construction also need attention, as in “the current modren thechnologies are not availabled” and “the date of constructed house.” Some sentences are fragments or awkwardly joined, particularly “They faced on there time.” Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and check tense consistency.
