Student answer (Band 5.5)
In this contemporary society it is prevalent that most of the people investigate about the history of house or building they live. This essay discuss about the reasons behind it and the research method using by the people to find the history behind it.
To begin with, in recent times people begin to believe in the architectural science called vasthu, which is a word orginated from sanskirt. It is believed that the houses should be constructed according to this science. Moreover, exaggeration of vasthu with negative energy make people vigalent in order to search about the history of their house. Moreover, numerous number of films, especially in south India are developed this concept. For example a famous movie in my mother tongue namely Drona acted by a well known actor Mammoty depicts about a man in search of the history of his house beacuse of certain issues like breaking of glasses in the windows beacause of air pressure, fire accidents and unusual scary sounds which leads to dreadful problems in architecture of house. Significant changes in the architecture and position of the house generates plethora of profound positive impacts which are helpful converting the atmosphere of house peaceful.
a best way to research about this is speaking with experts. Because nowadays there are so many researches happening in this fields which is highly connected to architectural science especially vasthu. Besides that we can enquire to the people in neighbourhood to collect required information about the history of house to ensure that the house is free from problems related to vasthu. Communication with other individuals is superlative to understand the timeline of the house. Furthermore, interviewing the family or the agent which are agin beneficial.
In conclusion, architectural science which plays a crucial role in motivating people to search about the house they live through several resources like neighbouhood and experts.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both questions: you suggest that interest is driven by beliefs about Vastu and portrayals in films, then mention experts, neighbours and previous occupants as research sources. The film example gives some concrete support, but it is lengthy and focuses on unusual events rather than clearly explaining why people generally want to know a building’s history. The reasons are also narrow: the response does not consider other plausible motives, such as checking a property’s age, ownership, past use or structural changes. The research section names useful sources, but does not explain how people could use records or archives. Develop a wider range of relevant reasons and explain each method more clearly.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure, with an introduction, a paragraph on reasons, a paragraph on research and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “To begin with,” “Besides that” and “Furthermore” help signal movement between points. However, progression within the first body paragraph is uneven: the discussion moves from Vastu to films, then to a long plot example and its effects, without consistently connecting these details to the task. “Moreover” is repeated, and the final sentence of the first body paragraph is difficult to connect to the preceding example. The conclusion mainly repeats the Vastu idea and research sources. Group related points more tightly and use clearer references to show how each example supports your answer.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt a range of topic-related and less common vocabulary, including “architectural science,” “timeline,” “interviewing” and “neighbourhood.” This gives you some ability to discuss the subject beyond basic terms. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “investigate about the history,” “exaggeration of vasthu,” “vigilant in order to search” and “plethora of profound positive impacts.” Spelling errors, including “orginated,” “sanskirt” and “beacuse,” also reduce precision. Some expressions make the intended meaning hard to follow. Prefer direct, natural phrasing and check spelling and collocations; for example, say that people “research the history” and “consult an expert.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “which” and “because,” and the main ideas can generally be followed. However, control is inconsistent, and errors occur in basic sentence patterns as well as longer constructions. Examples include “This essay discuss” (subject–verb agreement), “people begin to believe” (tense consistency), “a best way” (article use), and “interviewing the family or the agent which are” (agreement and clause structure). The sentence beginning “Because nowadays” is a fragment, while several long sentences combine ideas without clear grammatical boundaries. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles and complete sentences, then divide complex explanations into shorter, controlled clauses.
