Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both questions: you suggest that people want to learn history and culture, and you identify speaking with older residents as a research method. The Taj Mahal example gives one relevant illustration of historical interest. However, the reasons are narrow and not fully explained, and the response does not clearly establish why interest is increasing in some countries. The research discussion relies almost entirely on older people; other useful methods, such as checking local archives, property records, libraries, or historical websites, are not considered. The conclusion mainly repeats earlier points rather than drawing the answer together. Develop a wider range of relevant reasons and explain how each research method can provide reliable information.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for reasons and research, and a conclusion. Basic signposting such as “Moreover,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” helps show the intended stages of the answer. However, progression within paragraphs is often repetitive: the research paragraph repeatedly says that older people can provide information, without adding a distinct step or method. Some links are also unclear, as in “A good example can be seen this is…” and “As a result, find out information…”. The introduction does not lead clearly into the body, and the conclusion repeats rather than synthesises. Organise each paragraph around a clear main point, then explain and illustrate it without restating the same idea.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “historical building,” “culture and tradition,” “ancient,” and “research.” This gives the reader a general sense of the subject. However, the range is limited and several phrases are repeated, especially “old apartment,” “historical building,” and “older adults.” Some word choices or collocations are inaccurate and can make meaning difficult to follow, such as “obtain real massage” and “bost their knowledge”; spelling errors such as “histroy” and “taj mohol” also reduce precision. Aim to use more exact terms for research sources and historical information, and check spelling carefully. Vary repeated expressions with suitable alternatives rather than relying on “old” throughout.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “because” and “when,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, the range is limited, and complex attempts are often faulty. For example, “a large number of countries an increase people interest” lacks a complete, correctly formed clause, while “There are several reasons for search” has an incorrect grammatical pattern. Errors also occur with articles, agreement, and sentence construction, as in “a interesting history” and “majority of the people may talk.” These problems recur and sometimes make the reader pause to interpret the point. Practise building accurate subject–verb sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and check articles and agreement.
