Student answer (Band 5.5)
A considerable amount of people in some states are curious about the place they live in and also what is the history behind that construction. I believe some people want to have idea about how old the accomodation is and some may have intuitive mind to critically think about everything around them.
The main reason is that most of the building are very old, their sewage systems most of the time compromised in order to this individuals face a lot of difficulties. In addition to this, beforehand people try to know about the place and who lived before them and what problems they faced. For Instance, some building have old marks some people consider it as dirty walls but some take it critically and know about story behind them. Another reason is that, some people have interest in history subject so they believe that every thing has a story behind that they want to know about the each and everything of that place.
In terms of research sources, some individuals get information through social media for their reputation or use google map about the location information. The most common way is they prefer to talked to neighbours or shopkeepers about the residency through this they get authentic information about the building. For example, few years back a group of people decided to open a tution center they found a accomodation in very less rent at that point they did not search about the locality after sometime the institution did not run as expected. They asked to different people around that place and the end up that the building has a bad reputation that is why people do not preer to take admission.
In conclusion, having knowledge about own residency is significantly important. It will give you complete peace of mind and comfort, through talking to people living in same building or people around it.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both questions: you suggest that residents may be curious about a building’s age, previous occupants, or historical significance, and you mention neighbours, shopkeepers, social media, and online maps as research sources. However, the reasons are not consistently explained, and some points are unclear or only loosely connected to the question. For instance, the discussion of compromised sewage systems shifts towards practical building problems rather than explaining why people want to investigate a property’s history. The tuition-centre example illustrates the value of asking local people, but its connection to historical research is not made explicit. Develop a smaller number of relevant reasons and explain how each motivates research; clarify how each proposed source can reveal a building’s past.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable introduction, separate paragraphs for reasons and research methods, and a conclusion, so the reader can identify its main sections. Some linking phrases, such as “In addition to this,” “For instance,” and “In conclusion,” help signal relationships between ideas. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven: the point about old sewage systems moves abruptly to previous residents, while the example about a tuition centre focuses on reputation and admissions rather than clearly developing the research method. Connections between sentences are sometimes difficult to follow, and the conclusion introduces “peace of mind and comfort” without drawing together the main reasons and methods. Use clearer topic sentences and make each example directly support the point it follows.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “sewage systems,” “locality,” “reputation,” and “authentic information,” and you attempt to express ideas beyond very basic language. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning difficult to interpret. For example, “intuitive mind to critically think” does not clearly express a reason for researching a home, and “take it critically” is not a natural way to describe investigating marks on a wall. There are also spelling errors such as “accomodation,” “tution,” and “preer.” Aim for precise, natural phrases such as “historical records,” “previous occupants,” and “investigate the building’s past,” and check spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses beginning with “because” or “that,” and the overall message is usually recoverable. However, errors occur frequently in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and verb forms, and some make the reader work to understand the intended meaning. Examples include “most of the building are,” “want to have idea,” and “they prefer to talked”; these need plural agreement, an article, and a correctly formed verb respectively. The sentence beginning “The main reason is that” also joins ideas with a comma where a full stop or clearer clause structure is needed. Practise building accurate basic sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and check subject–verb agreement and verb patterns.
