Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both questions: you suggest curiosity about how people lived in earlier periods and mention books, magazines, documentaries, and YouTube as research sources. These points are relevant, but the reasons are not always clearly explained. For example, the discussion of old houses having “no light and air system” gives a possible source of curiosity, yet the link to why residents investigate their own building’s history could be made more explicit. The research section lists several methods but gives little detail about how someone would use them or what information they might find. The conclusion introduces the idea that modern design is a “good habbit” without clarifying your meaning. Develop each main point with a specific explanation or example and keep the response focused on the two questions.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “First of all” and “Secondly,” and a conclusion. This helps readers identify the main sections. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow: the first body paragraph moves from curiosity about past lifestyles to building design and then environmental change without clearly connecting these ideas. Linking expressions such as “Moreover” and “So” are used, but the relationships between some sentences remain unclear, and “So” is followed by a vague statement about changes affecting the area. The conclusion also repeats the topic rather than clearly summarising the reasons and research methods. Organise each paragraph around one central point and use clearer references and transitions to show how each supporting detail relates to it.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “ancient era,” “facilities,” “complex design,” “constructed,” and “documentary,” and you attempt to discuss both historical buildings and research sources. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts of the response difficult to understand, such as “interseted,” “resreach,” “magzines,” and “thivk.” Some combinations are also unnatural, including “curious about to know” and “changes of design of houses.” Choose more precise, natural phrases and check spelling carefully. For instance, you could describe people as wanting to “learn about a building’s past” and explain that they consult “historical records” or “local archives.” This would make your ideas clearer and more appropriate to an academic essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses beginning with “in which” and “without machines,” but control is inconsistent. Errors occur frequently in basic sentence patterns and in the longer structures, sometimes making meaning hard to follow. For example, “their are number” has an incorrect verb form and missing article, while “people how are interseted” uses an incorrect relative pronoun. Agreement and sentence construction are also problematic in “That also include how they build…” and “through changes of design … changes the environment conditions.” Practise forming complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check articles, plurals, and agreement. Breaking complex ideas into shorter sentences first will help you express them accurately before combining them with subordinate clauses.
