Student answer (Band 4.0)
Nowadays in many countries many and more locals are becoming intrested in finding out about the history of the house or building they live in it. And there are many reasons for this and I will discuss it in this essay.
Firstly, many people read history to learn something on it and many people learn something from the history but some people like to read deeply. For example in the past time people live in a hut and it was started from many many years ago because many people live in a privacy. Many people earn money in the past decades and the dont have place to collect it so he made a hut and lived in it and they collect money and save in it. The other thing was people make a physical relationship with his wife. They dont have aspecific place to do it so hut is the best place for this. That is the reason that people were intrested in finding the history.
People research it while watching docomentries and watch some thing crazy on social media so he decided to research it deeply. For instance if some one watch a few second video about the history in which they gives a knowledge about the history of the houses and buildings so he watch it and start doing research on it on social media. Another research was reading history books about the houses and building some people use it for work and some use it to live in it. And the development start and people buy it use it for other things not only for live.
In conclusion, The history teels very deeply information about the house and buildings but mostly people use houses in history because it is more safe than building.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
The response attempts both questions: it suggests that people want to learn from the past and mentions documentaries, social media, and books as research methods. However, the reasons are not clearly connected to why people investigate the particular history of their own homes. The hut example focuses on speculative details about privacy, saving money, and relationships rather than explaining residents’ motivations, and the conclusion shifts to whether houses are safer than buildings. As a result, the task is addressed only minimally and some content is tangential. To improve, give relevant reasons—such as curiosity about previous owners, a building’s architectural value, or concerns about renovations—and explain practical research steps, such as checking property records or asking local historians.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is a basic overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for reasons and research methods, and a conclusion. The sequence within the research paragraph is also understandable: documentaries and social media are followed by books. However, progression is weakened by repeated, loosely connected statements, especially in the first body paragraph, where the discussion moves from learning history to huts, money, and relationships without a clear link to the question. Connectors such as “Firstly,” “For example,” and “In conclusion” provide some signposting, but references like “it” and “they” are often unclear. Build each paragraph around one main point, explain it in a logical order, and use precise references so readers can follow how each example supports the point.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.0
The response uses basic vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “history,” “research,” “documentaries,” “social media,” and “history books.” Some attempts to express ideas beyond simple statements are visible, such as “research it deeply,” but the range is repetitive and several word choices make meaning unclear. For example, “many and more locals” is not a natural way to describe a growing trend, while “watch some thing crazy” does not clearly convey a research source or motivation. There are also spelling errors, including “intrested,” “docomentries,” and “teels.” Aim for accurate, topic-specific phrases such as “growing interest,” “property records,” and “previous occupants,” and check spelling and collocations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response includes mostly simple clauses and some attempts to link ideas with “because,” “so,” and “if.” Meaning is sometimes recoverable, but control is inconsistent. For example, “many people live in a privacy” has an incorrect article and noun construction, and “some one watch … so he watch it and start doing research” shifts between singular forms without consistent agreement or tense. The opening also joins sentences awkwardly with “And,” while “the dont have place” and “people use it to live in it” show problems with verb forms and sentence construction. To improve, practise accurate present and past forms, subject–verb agreement, articles, and clear sentence boundaries. Use a few well-controlled complex sentences rather than joining many ideas into one.
