Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is frequently argued that people in different countries are interested in finding out about history of houses and the buildings in which they are living. There are many reasons of this zealous of people because they want to know how their houses evolved overtime. They can find it out by using different resources.
The citizens of different countries are keen to know the history of their houses because it is essential to find it out that how their ancestors very first time build their houses. It gives them the knowledge of different cultural societies and history of themselves. They will get to know that how different people build their houses for the very first time and will get the idea of medium of construction whether it was like with muds, bricks or cement. For example, a chinese man was keen to know the history of his house, then he started his research work and resulted in the whole pedigree of his house. Which was initially built by his father's grandparent.
The public of different nations can get this information from different articles, journals, websites and social media. They could get relevant information from the old people living around them. This research could be done very easily by using different mediums. They could done this research by collecting data from libraries of different schools, cafes and public libraries.
In conclusion, to getting know the history of houses people became aware of the efforts of their ancestors toward building their house and eventually got to know the real worth of their houses. This research is very easy to conduct just by using the available information.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both questions: you suggest that people want to understand their ancestors’ building methods and cultural history, and you name sources such as websites, journals, libraries, and older neighbours. These points are relevant, but the reasons are narrow and partly repetitive, with the focus mainly on how houses were constructed rather than other motivations, such as family heritage, ownership, or preservation. The research methods are listed but not explained in enough detail—for instance, you could describe checking property records, maps, archives, or interviewing previous residents. The example of the Chinese man is relevant, but its connection to the broader reasons could be clearer. More specific development and explanation of both parts would make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for reasons and research methods, and a conclusion. This makes the main stages easy to identify. Some links between ideas are less clear, however. In the first body paragraph, the discussion moves from ancestors’ building methods to cultural knowledge and construction materials without showing how each point develops the previous one. The example beginning “For example” is followed by a sentence fragment (“Which was initially built…”), weakening the flow. Repeated references to “different countries” and “different” also make cohesion feel somewhat mechanical. Use clearer referencing and connect each example directly to the point it supports.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “cultural societies,” “medium of construction,” “pedigree,” and “relevant information,” which helps communicate the subject. However, several choices are inaccurate or unnatural and sometimes make the meaning less clear: “reasons of this zealous of people,” “history of themselves,” and “the whole pedigree of his house” do not express the intended ideas naturally. There is also repetition of general terms such as “different,” “research,” and “houses.” Aim for precise collocations and a wider set of relevant terms, such as “family heritage,” “property records,” and “historical archives.” Check spelling and capitalisation too, as in “Chinese.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses with “because,” “whether,” and “by using,” but control is inconsistent. Errors occur in sentence structure, verb forms, articles, and agreement. For example, “find it out that how” has an incorrect clause pattern, while “They could done this research” needs a correctly formed verb phrase. “Which was initially built by his father's grandparent” is a fragment rather than a complete sentence, and “people became aware” shifts awkwardly into the past in the conclusion. These problems sometimes make the reader pause, although the main message is generally understandable. Practise building accurate complex sentences and check each sentence for a complete subject and verb.
