Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You attempt to answer both questions: you suggest that interest may relate to fraud, housing demand and construction safety, and you mention asking neighbours and contacting government offices. These are relevant starting points. However, the reasons are not clearly explained as reasons people want to investigate a building’s history; for example, population growth and expensive property are mentioned without showing how they prompt historical research. The research methods also need clearer detail, and the reference to construction materials shifts towards assessing safety rather than discovering a building’s past. Your conclusion gives a general recommendation but does not clearly summarise the main reasons and methods. Develop each point with a direct explanation or example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, so the reader can identify its broad structure. The second body paragraph also signals a shift to research methods with “on the other hand.” However, progression within paragraphs is often difficult to follow: the first body paragraph moves from crime and fraud to population growth, property prices and disaster prevention without clear links. Connectors such as “besiades this” and “on the other hand” do not always express the relationship between the ideas accurately. References such as “this research” and “all steps” are also vague. Organise one main idea per paragraph, use clear topic sentences, and explain how each supporting point connects to the question.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “population,” “urban areas,” “government authorities,” “legalization” and “construction.” This gives you some material for discussing housing and research. However, the range is limited and many spelling errors or inaccurate word choices make parts difficult to understand, such as “accomodsation,” “farud,” “earthquick” and “land avenue offices.” Some phrases are also unnatural or unclear, including “bring in notice the history” and “survive the place.” Choose precise expressions and check spelling carefully. For example, describe “checking a property’s records” or “asking local residents about its past,” rather than relying on vague phrases such as “bring in notice.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You try to form longer sentences and use clauses, for example, “some clever people are doing fraud with innocent person and illegally copying and constructing building for sale and profit.” However, sentence structures are often faulty, and frequent errors in agreement, articles, verb forms and sentence boundaries make the meaning hard to follow. Examples include “Their are several points,” “there is demands,” and “whenever some one willing to buy … should survive the place,” where the subject and verb structure are incomplete or incorrect. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, with sentences beginning in lowercase and commas separating ideas that need full stops. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses while checking each sentence has a clear subject and verb.
