Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both parts of the question: you suggest reasons such as curiosity about past cultures and concern about structural problems, and mention official documents, local residents and online sources as research methods. These ideas are relevant, but several are stated briefly rather than explained or illustrated. For example, you say that learning who built a house helps people understand how people thought at the time, but do not develop this with a specific example. The reasons also overlap around curiosity and historical interest, while the practical value of researching a home could be explained more fully. A clearer, more developed account of why people investigate their homes and how each source can help would make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph on reasons, one on research methods, and a concluding summary. This makes the main progression easy to follow. You also use basic signposting such as “Another way” and “Third way” to organise the methods. However, connections between ideas are sometimes mechanical, and repeated sentence openings such as “People wants” make the reasons paragraph feel list-like. The introduction combines several points in a sentence that is difficult to follow, and the conclusion repeats earlier ideas rather than drawing them together. Use clearer links between each reason and its explanation, and vary how you introduce supporting points.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “historical places,” “structural problems,” “renovation,” and “official documents.” However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “people wants to know” and “find out.” Some choices are imprecise or unnatural, such as “get into deep about old buildings,” “get knowlegde,” and “asking from people.” Spelling errors, including “beacuse,” “differsnt,” and “curiousity,” also reduce accuracy. Build a more varied set of natural phrases for historical research and motivation, and check spelling and collocations during revision so the reader can understand your ideas more smoothly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, but control is inconsistent, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “There are many reasons and factors that how it was built” has an incomplete structure, while “People wants” and “they wants” show repeated subject–verb agreement errors. The opening also contains a run-on sequence of ideas, and phrases such as “who built and which kind of material used” are missing grammatical elements. Most sentences rely on basic patterns, with limited accurate use of subordinate clauses. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, then check agreement, articles and sentence boundaries. This will help you express the relevant ideas more clearly.
