Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both questions: you suggest that curiosity about history and concerns about a building’s safety motivate research, and you mention technology and asking long-term residents as ways to investigate. These are relevant ideas, but they are only partly developed. The example about someone finding gold is not clearly connected to why residents generally want to learn about a building’s past, and the safety point would be stronger if you explained what historical records could reveal about construction or previous damage. The carbon-dating example is specific, but its purpose and practical use are not made clear. Explain each reason and research method more fully, with a direct link to the task, to make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall arrangement: the first body paragraph gives reasons, the second describes research methods, and the conclusion summarises both. This makes the main progression easy to follow. You also use signposting such as “For example,” “Moreover,” and “To sum up.” However, some links are mechanical or unclear. In “As a result,” the connection between hearing about gold and wanting to investigate is asserted rather than explained, while “So this is way that how they can get information” repeats the preceding point. Some references, such as “that place” and “that,” are difficult to identify. Use clearer references and connect examples explicitly to the point they support.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use a small range of relevant vocabulary, including “history,” “construction,” “carbon dating,” and “accurate information,” which helps communicate the topic. However, vocabulary is repetitive and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning harder to follow. For example, “curious in researching about” and “secure about that place” do not express the intended ideas naturally; “interested in researching” and “reassured about the building’s safety” would be clearer. Spelling errors such as “buliding,” “mystries,” and “neigherhood” are also noticeable. Build a wider set of accurate phrases for historical research and building safety, and check spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including clauses introduced by “because,” “where,” and “when.” This shows an effort to connect ideas, but the range is limited and complex sentences are often inaccurate. Examples include “where they are live,” “people are become more interested,” and “they are start research”; these need corrected verb forms, such as “where they live,” “people become more interested,” and “they start researching.” Agreement and sentence construction also cause problems in “technology developed where people can use that.” Punctuation is inconsistent, with missing spaces after full stops and several run-on sentences. Practise accurate clause patterns and verb forms, then proofread sentence boundaries.
