Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both questions: you suggest that people seek a stronger connection to their home and identity, and you mention libraries and long-term neighbours as research sources. The explanation of emotional roots is relevant, and the examples of maps, directories and newspapers give the research section some useful detail. However, the reasons are only briefly developed, and the example introduced with “for example” is left unfinished. The conclusion repeats the main points rather than adding a clear summary. The response also contains 217 words, so it does not meet the required minimum of 250; this limits the opportunity to explain and support your ideas fully. Develop the reasons and include a complete, specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some organisation: the opening introduces the topic, the body paragraphs broadly separate reasons from research methods, and a conclusion is attempted. Linking phrases such as “To begin with” and “In addition” help signal this structure. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven, and the opening is difficult to follow because it breaks into fragments, including “and also people can…” The unfinished “for example” interrupts the first body paragraph, while the conclusion repeats earlier information without clearly drawing the response together. Some connections between ideas are also unclear. Use complete paragraphs with one main purpose each, connect supporting details explicitly to that purpose, and avoid starting a new point before finishing the previous one.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “emotional bond,” “architectural blueprints,” “historical maps” and “local events.” These choices show an effort to be specific rather than relying entirely on basic words. However, the range is limited and frequent spelling errors make several ideas harder to understand, for example “individuls,” “apertment,” “librareies” and “neigihbourhood.” Some word combinations are also unnatural, such as “finding about the history” and “property librarys.” Choose accurate topic vocabulary and check spelling carefully; using a smaller number of correctly formed phrases will communicate your ideas more clearly. A wider range of precise expressions would also help you explain the reasons and research methods.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, such as the sentence describing how homeowners feel a stronger bond when they learn who lived in a property before them. However, control is inconsistent, and many sentences contain errors that make the relationships between ideas difficult to follow. The opening includes fragments and an incomplete construction (“the reason is growing…”), while “people can research a property history by public library” lacks a complete, accurate grammatical pattern. There are also problems with articles, verb forms, agreement and punctuation, including the run-on sequence beginning “Homeowners feel…” and continuing into “curios about the design style.” Practise building complete sentences, then check subject–verb agreement, articles and sentence boundaries.
