Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both questions: you suggest that residents want to check whether a building is safe, preserve historic homes, and learn about family heritage, and you mention local development offices and older residents as research sources. These are relevant reasons and methods. However, several ideas are only briefly stated or unclear. For example, the point about having “the oldest house in the society” and attracting visitors is not explained, and the personal example about a relative renovating a house does not show how its history was researched. Develop each main reason and explain how the suggested sources could provide evidence, such as old records, maps, or residents’ memories. A clearer, consistently stated focus on the reasons and research methods would make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic overall structure: it first discusses reasons, then research methods, and finally gives a personal example and a concluding view. This helps the reader identify the main sections. However, progression within the paragraphs is uneven, and several ideas are joined in long sentences, particularly the opening reasons paragraph. Connections such as “because,” “also,” and “According to me” are used, but the relationships between points are not always clear; the shift from safety to preserving homes and attracting visitors feels abrupt. The personal example also interrupts the discussion of research methods rather than supporting it directly. Use clearer paragraph divisions and organise each paragraph around one main point, with a specific explanation or example.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “preserve,” “historic homes,” “development offices,” and “reflection of the history.” This gives you a basic range for discussing heritage and research. However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or repetitive, which sometimes makes meaning less clear. For instance, “research about the history” is less natural than “research the history,” and “favourable in term of preserving” does not express your intended meaning clearly. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “intersest,” “intersted,” “vistors,” and “hoses.” Build a more precise set of topic phrases and check spelling carefully; this will help you express your ideas without relying repeatedly on “house” and “history.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including clauses with “because” and “as,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in agreement and verb forms appear in “how long their house or building are safe” and “how they renovate their homes and made their houses.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation also need attention: the opening is a fragment, and several sentences run together or have spaces before full stops. Other examples include “one of my relative renovate” and “the reflection the history,” where the grammatical relationships are incomplete or inaccurate. These errors can make the reader pause to interpret your meaning. Practise building accurate sentences with one main idea and a correctly formed supporting clause, then check agreement, tense, articles, and punctuation.
