Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both parts of the question: curiosity about former residents and the building’s past explains why people investigate, while photographs, documents, libraries, museums, older residents, and government offices are offered as research methods. These are relevant ideas, and the examples help make the response practical. However, some points are only briefly stated. For instance, the cultural or religious significance of a building is mentioned but not explained with a specific example, and the government-office suggestion is not clarified as to what records people might find there. Develop each main reason and method with a short explanation or illustration so that the response answers the task more fully and precisely.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph on reasons, a paragraph on research methods, and a conclusion. The sequence within the research paragraph is also easy to follow, with methods introduced through “Firstly” and “Secondly,” then an additional suggestion. This meets the expected level of organisation and shows some progression. To make the flow more natural and controlled, reduce reliance on formulaic transitions and connect related details more explicitly. For example, the list of photographs, designs, furniture, and documents could be grouped by the kind of evidence each provides. Some references, such as “this information” and “their history,” could also be made more specific so readers can immediately identify what they refer to.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “previous residents,” “historical documents,” “property document,” and “cultural” significance. These choices show an attempt to discuss the subject beyond very basic language. However, the range and control are uneven: several spelling errors (“poeple,” “invovlved,” “libaries”) and inaccurate or unnatural expressions (“religion prospects,” “past data,” “home earlier apperence”) make parts of the response less clear. Some words are also repeated, particularly “people,” “history,” and “information.” Build a more accurate set of topic-specific phrases and check spelling and collocations carefully; this will make your meaning more precise without requiring unnecessarily complex vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple sentences and some attempts at more complex structures, such as “People may want to know that when it built…” and “This information can help them to develop a connection with their homes.” The main ideas are generally understandable, but errors in verb forms, articles, agreement, and sentence construction occur in several places. For example, “when it built” needs a passive form, and “historical building have” has a subject–verb agreement problem. The sentence beginning “Also they can ask” also needs clearer punctuation and a correctly formed relative clause. Practise accurate passive constructions and clauses with “who” or “that,” then proofread each sentence for a complete, correctly formed verb phrase.
