Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both questions: curiosity and pride are offered as reasons, and you suggest using online records, libraries, museums, and older neighbours to investigate a building’s past. These are relevant ideas, but they are only briefly explained. For example, the point about wanting to repair an old house is not clearly connected to why its history matters, and the claim that an old house may sell for a good price needs explanation. The response also ends with a general conclusion rather than a clear summary of the reasons and research methods. The required minimum of 250 words is not met, which limits how fully you can develop and support your ideas. Add specific explanations or examples for each main point.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: you introduce the topic, use “first” and “secondly” to present reasons, then move to research methods and finish with a conclusion. This gives the reader some sense of the response’s direction. However, progression is uneven because the reasons and research methods are not separated into clear paragraphs, and several ideas run together, as in “because the people can research the own old house to see the mobile app of google.” Linking words such as “so” and “another way” are repeated and sometimes do not show the relationship between ideas clearly. Use one paragraph for reasons and another for research, and connect each point with precise transitions and clear references.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
Your vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the broad topic, with relevant terms such as “history,” “old design,” “records,” “museum,” and “documents.” You also attempt phrases such as “historical places” and “government house website.” However, the range is limited and repetition of “old house and building” and “people” makes the response imprecise. Several word choices or forms make meaning difficult to follow, including “the people are fee very pround,” “sitting the old peoples neibghours,” and “good price is seling.” Spelling errors such as “interseted,” “libarry,” and “doucements” also reduce clarity. Build a more accurate set of topic-specific expressions and check spelling and collocations before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You mainly use simple sentence patterns and make some attempts to join ideas with “because” and “so,” but these longer constructions are often faulty. For example, “The people are find the house and building” has an incorrect verb form, while “the house which the are live” has problems with both the subject and verb pattern. Errors with articles, plurals, agreement, and sentence boundaries occur throughout, as in “The houses and building are the very important.” These frequent errors sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to understand. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them using one clear subordinate clause. Pay particular attention to subject–verb agreement, verb forms, and full stops between complete ideas.
