Student answer (Band 5.0)

It is often heard that in some nations, huge number of people are admittedly enthusiastic regarding the information and history of their house or building. To know the age, cost and to be safe is the purpose. They can research this through the owners and by checking the quality of building and by taking help from others.

To begin with, most of the people were eager to get the information about the house they live in because they are concerned about their personal care and health and few are deeply involved with history. They acqiure knowledge from historical architecture and mechanism used to construct the building in the prevoius days, also they can estimate the cost for the house. For example, Staying in a mud roofed house will make us more detailed to gather data and we become more anticipated to know about them.

However, same people need information about the specific house or building where they live. They can research through many ways such as asking their neighbours and taking help of some experienced persons. Additionally, researchers can directly get the substantial data from their owners or previous tenants where they had a good detailed information about it. For instance, people who are looking for stay or to rent a house to live in they undeniably research regarding the place.

In conclusion, some people are generally intrested in such things like gathering and getting information about the house they live in it depends on their personal issues like safety, cost of property etc.. While some are excited to research about it by contacting neighbours and owners.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both questions: you suggest that people investigate for safety, health, cost, or historical interest, and you mention neighbours, owners, and previous tenants as sources. These points are relevant, but the reasons are only briefly explained and some examples are unclear. For instance, the mud-roof example does not clearly show why learning a building’s history matters, while the point about people seeking a rental seems to shift from researching a home’s past to checking a property before moving in. The response therefore covers the task only partially, with ideas that remain limited and under-developed. To strengthen it, explain each reason more directly and give a specific, relevant example for each research method, such as consulting property records or local archives.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for reasons and research methods, and a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “To begin with,” “However,” and “In conclusion” help signal these stages. However, progression within paragraphs is not always clear, and some connections feel mechanical or imprecise. The second paragraph moves from health concerns to historical architecture and then cost without explaining how these ideas relate. The conclusion also repeats earlier points rather than bringing them together, and “it” in “it depends on their personal issues” has an unclear reference. Use clearer topic sentences, connect each supporting detail explicitly to the main point, and avoid repeating the same information in the conclusion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “historical architecture,” “previous tenants,” “substantial data,” and “safety,” which shows an attempt to discuss the subject beyond very basic terms. However, the range is limited, and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or awkward, sometimes making the intended meaning difficult to follow. For example, “personal care” does not clearly express concern about a building’s condition, and “more anticipated to know” is not a natural way to describe curiosity. There are also spelling errors such as “acqiure,” “prevoius,” and “intrested.” Aim for precise, natural phrases and check spelling carefully; vocabulary such as “structural safety,” “property records,” and “historical significance” would suit this topic.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses with “because” and “where,” and the main ideas can generally be understood. However, the range of structures is limited, and errors occur frequently, particularly in sentence formation, agreement, articles, and punctuation. For example, “huge number of people” needs an article, while “the owners or previous tenants where they had a good detailed information” has an unclear clause structure and incorrect agreement. The opening fragment, “To know the age, cost and to be safe is the purpose,” is also difficult to interpret grammatically. Practise building complete sentences with one clear main clause, then add supporting clauses; review articles, plural forms, and punctuation between independent ideas.
