Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both questions: you give reasons such as assessing safety and property value, and list ways to investigate, including municipal records, neighbours, libraries, online databases and physical inspection. These points are relevant, but the reasons are not always clearly explained or fully connected to the question. For example, “build their personal connection through communication” is vague, and “satisfy their souls about past residents” does not explain why this matters to people. The opening also promises that the topic will be discussed later rather than establishing a clear focus. To strengthen the response, explain the practical or emotional value of each reason and give a specific example of how one research method could reveal useful information.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has an overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for reasons and research methods, and a conclusion that revisits the main points. This makes the two parts of the task identifiable. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven: the reasons paragraph moves from challenges to personal connection, safety, value and purchasing without clear links between them. Connectors such as “On the one hand,” “Furthermore” and “Moreover” are used mechanically, and “Although” introduces a sentence without a contrasting main clause. Some references are also unclear, as in “the environment provided their by neighbours.” Improve cohesion by grouping related reasons, using transitions that show the actual relationship between ideas, and making each sentence’s reference explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “property value,” “municipal records,” “historical societies” and “physical inspection,” which helps communicate the subject. However, the range is not consistently controlled, and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear. For instance, “history of the infrastructure” is not a natural way to describe a home’s past, while “satisfy their souls about past residents” is difficult to interpret. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “discusss,” “destionation,” “reseach” and “muncipal.” Choose precise, natural phrases and proofread spelling; using accurate terms such as “property history” and “local archives” would make the ideas easier to follow.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You try to use both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses beginning with “while,” “because” and “after.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence structure, agreement and punctuation sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “people wants to know,” “after knowing about the place they can build,” and the run-on sequence “is it safe or not and which kind of amenities are provided.” The sentence beginning “Although, after researching…” is also incomplete in its construction because “although” signals a contrast that is not completed. Practise building clear sentences around one main idea, check subject–verb agreement, and use full stops or appropriate conjunctions to separate clauses.
