Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowdays people are taking more intereste in the history of their residence. We will discuss the idea behind this research and the means of the research individuals use.
First of all, the question is why individuals become more interested into the history of their home? We not only invest our money in purchasing new houses, but we also spent our valueable time to buy it. So individuals wants to now everything about the place before they buy it so they don't get any suprises after they settle in. For this people conduct a formal telephonic or in-person meeting with formal residents. They can also have a meeting with their neighbours.
For example, a new family rented the apartment in front of mine. After a week, the lady came at my door and asked if there is any water problem in my apartment because she was facing the water issue since day one. But owner of the apartment told her it will be fix within two to three days. I invited her insight and told her that the previous family also left this apartment due to the same issue becuase there is no water system implmented yet because of the payment shortage. Morever, I told her about all the fights the previous family had with the owner over the same issue. She was suprised and worried at the same moment because they finalize this apartment after a month of search. At the end, not only the payment was wasted but also their time of a month was also wasted.
On the other hand, some individuals start digging the history of their current places when they heard any suspisous rumor about it or they feel any suspisious activity. For such information they contact to their elders like grandpa or parents. In some cases they also asked questions to the previous residents of the house like if they felt something like this or not. So they can confirm if their feelings about such things are valid or not.
Additionally, sometime when people find some problem in their homes to fix it they need to fixed another related problem first; this chain will go on if the place is old. To solve this chain of problems they need to understand all about their house. So they start with the history of their house, to avoid any kind of surpising ending. For example, once we have a gas issue in our kitchen. My father though it is related to pipe problem and he just replaced it. When the same problem occured after 2 days he then start looking into the piple installation of our house and there he found out that these installations are totally linked with out water installation so he started questioning about the infra of the house form my grandfather so he can fix the problem.
At the end but not least, it is best to do some digging about our places before buying it. It will not only save our time but also give us some insights about our places.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both questions by giving several reasons for investigating a property’s past and describing ways to do so, including speaking with neighbours, previous residents and older family members. The examples about the water supply and the gas installation make the discussion relevant and show how a building’s history can affect practical decisions. Your response also gives a clear overall recommendation to investigate before buying. However, the first example focuses mainly on discovering a current maintenance problem, rather than researching the building’s history, and the discussion of rumours is less fully explained. To strengthen the response further, distinguish historical research from checking a property’s present condition and develop the research methods with specific sources, such as local records or archives. You already cover the task well, but some ideas need fuller development and sharper focus.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs presenting reasons and examples, and a concluding recommendation. Sequencing phrases such as “First of all,” “On the other hand,” and “Additionally” help signal the direction of the discussion, and the examples generally follow the ideas they illustrate. However, the progression is sometimes mechanical, with repeated transitions and repeated references to “the history” and “the house.” The first body paragraph also combines reasons for researching a home with methods of doing so, while the later paragraphs introduce further reasons without a consistently clear relationship to the task’s two questions. Some references, such as “this chain” and “such things,” could be more precise. Grouping the reasons together and then explaining research methods in a distinct paragraph would make the organisation easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to discuss property, research and maintenance, including “previous residents,” “water system,” “pipe installation” and “infrastructure.” These terms help communicate the examples, and the reader can generally understand your intended meaning. However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices are noticeable, including “Nowdays,” “suprises,” “suspisous,” and “infra.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “digging the history” and “invited her insight”; these reduce precision even when the general idea is understandable. There is also repetition of basic words such as “problem,” “house” and “history.” Build a more accurate range of collocations for property research and maintenance, and proofread spelling. For example, “investigate a property’s background” is more natural than “digging the history.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “because,” “when” and “so,” and most of the main ideas remain understandable. The examples also show some ability to connect events across several sentences. However, errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction occur in several places. For instance, “individuals wants” should use a plural verb, “we also spent” does not fit the present-time context, and “the same problem occured” needs a consistent past-tense form. In “they need to fixed,” the verb pattern is incorrect, while “it will be fix” also has an inaccurate passive form. Review subject–verb agreement, tense consistency and verb patterns, then check punctuation and sentence boundaries. More accurate control of these forms would make your varied sentences clearer.
