Student answer (Band 5.0)

In some country, an increasing number of people are fascinated to know about the history of the apartment or house they live in. This is because of the security purpose and they can find it by near police station.

There are several reasons of this issue but one of the main reason is security. Nowadays, security become very significant issue in people life, so that living in a building can be very dangerous sometimes for them. Because, sometimes without beign informed unknown person come easily and make occurance that's why public need to know about the past history of the house they want to rent. For example, in middle east country any people can come over and steal anything anytime.

Before move to an apartment or a house they should know about the history from the near police station or they can find out any history from the neighbour. Since almost all the history of a building is recorded at near police station ,this is because a police station only can find any dark or criminal history of a building and they keep record of their areas house history. In addition, neighbour is one of the first people to know about any previous offened work that happened in that house. For instance, if anyone get murdered in a place first questions will be ask to neighbour.

In conclusion, people interest in knowing the history of the home they want to move is only because of security and they can find all the history from their local defence people they have

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You address both questions: you identify security as a reason and suggest asking the police or neighbours. However, the response is only partially developed. Security is presented as the main reason, but the explanation that a building may be dangerous and the example about theft in Middle Eastern countries are broad and not clearly connected to researching a particular home’s history. The research methods are also asserted rather than explained; for example, you say police keep records of a building’s history without showing what information people could request or how they would obtain it. The conclusion repeats the main points but does not add a clear, fully supported answer. Develop a wider or more specific explanation and make each research method practical and relevant.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for reasons and research methods, and a conclusion. This helps the reader identify the two parts of the task. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and links between ideas can feel mechanical. For instance, “Because” begins a fragment, while “Since” introduces a claim about police records that is then repeated in “this is because.” The conclusion also ends with an incomplete thought, making the final point difficult to follow. Use clearer topic sentences, connect each example directly to the point it supports, and avoid repeating the same explanation. Check that each paragraph develops one main idea in a logical sequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “security,” “criminal history,” “police station,” and “neighbour,” so the general subject is understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “fascinated to know,” “security purpose,” and “previous offened work.” Spelling errors, including “beign,” “occurance,” and “offened,” also reduce precision. Some expressions are too broad for the point being made, such as “any people can come over and steal anything anytime.” Aim for more precise, natural phrases and check spelling carefully. Using vocabulary such as “property records,” “previous occupants,” or “reported incidents” would help explain the topic more clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses with “because,” “so that,” and “if.” This shows an effort to connect causes and examples. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence boundaries sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “In some country,” “security become very significant issue,” and “Before move to an apartment.” The sentence beginning “Because, sometimes…” is not grammatically complete, and the final sentence is unfinished. Practise building accurate sentences with one clear main clause, then add subordinate clauses only when their structure is secure. Review subject–verb agreement, infinitives after “before,” and punctuation around dependent clauses.
