Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both questions: you suggest that people are interested because older homes preserve family memories and traditions, and you mention asking parents, using Google, and reading books as research methods. The personal example about your own house and the reference to learning about Mohenjodaro also help make the response relevant. However, the reasons and methods are only briefly explained, and the examples do not always clearly support the claims—for instance, the Cambridge and Greenwich University references are asserted without explaining what their research found. The opening says “I firmly agree,” although the task asks for reasons and methods rather than an opinion. Develop each reason and research method with clearer explanation and specific, credible examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an introduction, separate paragraphs for reasons and research methods, and a conclusion, so the reader can identify its main sections. However, progression within paragraphs is often difficult to follow. Repeated signposts such as “To illustrate with,” “To explain with,” and “Resultantly” are used mechanically, and some do not express the relationship between the ideas that follow. For example, the Cambridge University claim shifts abruptly to a personal description of an old well. The conclusion repeats the general value of learning history rather than drawing together the reasons and methods. Use fewer, more accurate linking phrases, and organise each body paragraph around one clear point followed by explanation and an example.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “ancestors,” “traditional,” “investigate,” and “designed,” and the reader can generally understand the subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making meaning unclear. “Fascinated in discovering out” is not a natural expression, while “memorize” does not convey the intended meaning of family memories. There are also spelling errors such as “servive,” “eleborate,” and “vchidhood,” alongside repeated use of “history,” “house,” and “learn.” Build a more accurate set of phrases for discussing buildings and research, and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use both simple statements and attempts at longer sentences, including a reason clause beginning “because” and a sentence describing how a house represents ancestors’ lives. However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to process. Examples include “the buildings are too old and represents,” where the subject and verb do not agree, and “it also have old well,” which has errors in agreement and article use. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in “How” and “Some” after a sentence break and the missing space after “Conclusion,”. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries before adding more complex structures.
