Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify two relevant reasons for researching a home’s history: checking the property’s value or documentation and developing an emotional connection to it. You also begin to answer how people can investigate, mentioning local residents, older neighbours and the land office. However, the response addresses the task only partially: the research methods are not explained, and the conclusion is unfinished, so the second question receives very limited coverage. The example about checking deeds mainly concerns verifying a rental transaction rather than researching a building’s history. The response is also below the required 250 words, which limits the opportunity to develop and support your ideas. Explain both questions fully and finish with a complete conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is a basic paragraph structure: an introduction, a paragraph about reasons, a paragraph beginning to discuss research, and a conclusion. The ideas about property security and emotional attachment are grouped sensibly, and signposts such as “The another reason” and “Firstly” show an attempt to guide the reader. However, progression is weakened because the research paragraph stops after one incomplete point and the conclusion does not complete its thought. Some linking is mechanical or unclear, as in “As a result” and “On the other hand,” which does not clearly signal the relationship between the ideas. Improve cohesion by completing each paragraph, using transitions that express the actual relationship, and linking examples directly to the point they support.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “property,” “documents,” “deeds,” “historical,” and “traditional,” which helps communicate the main ideas. There are also attempts at more specific expressions such as “emotional connection.” However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or awkward choices make parts difficult to understand, including “background of story,” “house documental,” and “make their property more valueable.” Spelling and word-form errors such as “reseach,” “Cosequently,” and “valueable” also reduce clarity. Aim for natural collocations and check spelling carefully. For example, use “the history of the property,” “property records,” and “increase the property’s value” rather than the less idiomatic phrases in the response.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including a conditional structure in “if person rented a house from the broker” and a time clause beginning “When people know…”. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors in articles, agreement, verb forms and sentence boundaries can make the reader work to understand your meaning. Examples include “people are going to curious,” “a numerous ways available,” and “they care their rented house.” Several sentences also run together without appropriate punctuation, while the final sentence is incomplete. Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns and complete sentences before adding complexity. Careful editing for articles, verb forms and punctuation would make your ideas much clearer.
