Student answer (Band 4.5)

In this argument, mostly population of few countries are interesting in the search of house history or apartments where they live. In my openion, I partilly agree on this statement because mostly countries population is poor. So, I think they have no time for these activities.

On the one hand, those countries who are finencially strong. They give more opperunities to their peoples. It is biggest reason they are finencially strong and they have much time for these habit. It is a firt reson. And the second reason is, I think they live a luxary life so they search

On the other hand people are fineancially week they always busy in their work so they have no time for these activities. Farthermore, They strongly belieave it is not use ful habit and just a method of time wasting. So, they do not much effort for theis habits

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

The response identifies financial circumstances and beliefs about whether researching a home’s past is worthwhile as possible reasons, so it makes a relevant start on the first question. However, the task asks both why people are interested and how they can research a building; the second part is not addressed at all. The opening also says you “partially agree,” although the prompt asks for reasons and research methods rather than an opinion to agree with. The ideas about wealth, free time and a “luxury life” are asserted but not explained or supported with examples. The response is also 103 words below the required minimum, leaving too little space to develop the answer. Address both questions directly and add specific research methods, such as checking property records or speaking to previous owners.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is an attempt to organise the response into an introduction and two body paragraphs, and “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” signal a contrast. This gives the reader some sense of the intended structure. However, the progression is difficult to follow: the first body paragraph ends abruptly with “so they search,” and the next sentence, “It is a firt reson,” does not clearly connect to the preceding point. The contrast between financially strong and weak people is repeated without a clear development, while the second question about research methods has no place in the organisation. Use topic sentences that state one clear point, develop it in a logical order, and connect each example explicitly to the task.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The response uses some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “house history,” “luxury life,” “time wasting” and “activities,” and attempts to distinguish between financially strong and weak people. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make the meaning less clear, for example “openion,” “finencially,” “opperunities,” “belieave” and “use ful.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “search of house history” and “their peoples.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and more precise terms for the topic, such as “research a property’s history” and “local property records.” Proofreading spelling and word forms would make your ideas easier to understand.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, including “because mostly countries population is poor” and “they always busy in their work so they have no time.” These show an effort to explain causes, but control of sentence structure and basic grammar is inconsistent. For example, “they always busy” needs a verb (“they are always busy”), and “mostly countries population” needs a clearer possessive or plural construction. The opening sentence also has an unclear structure, and punctuation is sometimes missing or awkward, as in “On the other hand people.” Practise building accurate subject–verb sentences first, then join related ideas with conjunctions and correct punctuation. More reliable sentence patterns will help you express the intended contrasts.
