Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, people are becoming more intersted in history. they keen to know the history of their families, houses or the apartments in which they are living from years and some families live in the same house from ages. There are certain reasons behind this which i will discuss in the following paragraph along with the ways that how people can find out about that.

There are some reasons that why individuals are very interested to find out about the history of their house. Firstly, people starts believing in astrology because of many advertisements going on social media in which they influence people that they can know their history easily. For instance, Indian people want to know if the house in which they are living is positive and good for them or not or if their is any negative vibes in their house.Another reason might be to get to know about their house and the place on which their homes are build such as what was before their houses are on that specific place like any hospital, school etc. Moreover, these days goverment suddenly start make a claim on many people properties that their homes are illegially made on public property. they make a claim , give certain amount of money to them and force them to move somewhere else and leave their house forever.

Some methods or ways individuals can use to find the history. One is library, all type of history, geography books of their country are available there. so, they can easily know from there. Other way is goverment documents, they can request to specific department to show them any documents if they have any related to the property they are living on. Moreover, they can ask their elders and neighours if they have any information about that.

In conclusion, people have their own reasons to find the history of their place and they also have some ways as well to find out about it. Although all the reasons might not be that serious and they can not trust all the resources as well. If they have any specifice reason behind their reasearch then they should find trustworthy resources as well to find out the real truth.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both questions: you give possible reasons for interest in a building’s past and suggest libraries, government records, and asking older residents or neighbours as research methods. The examples about beliefs concerning a home’s positive or negative influence and disputes over public land are relevant, but the connection between these points and historical research is not always clear. The reasons are also unevenly developed: the discussion of property claims is more specific, while the point about social-media advertisements is asserted without explaining how it leads people to investigate a building’s history. To strengthen the response, explain each reason directly and show how each research method could provide reliable evidence about a particular property’s past.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph on reasons, a paragraph on research methods, and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Another reason,” and “Moreover” help readers follow the main points. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical, and some links between ideas are unclear. For example, the shift from astrology and social-media advertisements to the history of a house needs a clearer explanation, while “they” in the discussion of government claims does not always have an unmistakable reference. The conclusion repeats the general point rather than drawing together the reasons and methods. Use more precise referencing and connect each example explicitly to the paragraph’s main idea.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “government documents,” “property,” “public property,” and “trustworthy resources.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “negative vibes,” although this is informal for an academic essay. Several inaccurate or awkward choices make parts less clear, including “history of their place,” “make a claim on many people properties,” and “the place on which their homes are build.” Spelling errors such as “intersted,” “illegially,” and “neighours” are noticeable. Aim for more precise collocations and consistent formal wording; for example, describe checking a property’s ownership records or researching the site’s previous use.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses beginning with “because,” “in which,” and “if,” and the overall meaning is usually understandable. However, errors are frequent, and some complex sentences are difficult to follow. Examples include “people starts believing,” “their homes are build,” and “government suddenly start make a claim,” where verb forms and agreement are not controlled. Sentence boundaries and capitalisation also need attention: “they keen” follows a full stop without a capital, and “house.Another” lacks a space after the period. Practise building shorter, accurate sentences first, then add subordinate clauses while checking subject–verb agreement, verb forms, and punctuation.
