Student answer (Band 5.5)
In some parts of globe, most of the individuals are being interested to know about the history of the place they live in. There are no proved reasons for this but some could be to know about which type of material is used, what issues would have been faced while construction. To answer these sort of questions people try to do research by asking people who live in same area before the building was constructed or by checking information online.
If we dig more down to the reasons the reasons could be the type of material used as we get to know about this then we can predict in how much time it would need to be repaired, another reason could be to know what legal issues this has faced to take precosions related to the relative issues or to prove that government had allowed everything in past. My uncle faced this problem and proved himself innocent by showing the older government's legal proceedings.
To time line this, it could be easy if the place is build during the social media era so it could be found by checking purchasing advertisment ran by the owner to sell the property. other way is to ask the locals of that area just like the grocery store owner who is there before the construction of building, as by my personal experience I have got learning that local shop owners have information of whole area ( from adress to origin) of each indivisual.
As we summarise, there are different reasons behind the interest to know about the history of there places and different methods which work to time line that.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both questions: you suggest reasons such as checking construction materials and past legal issues, and methods including online searches and asking local residents. The example about your uncle gives one idea a personal illustration. However, the reasons are not always clearly explained: the link between learning about materials and predicting repair needs is present, but the legal-history point is difficult to follow and is not fully connected to why people generally investigate a property. The research methods also need more detail about reliable sources, such as land or planning records, previous owners, or local archives. To strengthen the response, explain each reason and method more fully and make the uncle example’s relevance explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph on reasons, one on research methods, and a concluding summary. This makes the main stages of the answer easy to identify. Some connections, however, are mechanical or unclear. For example, “If we dig more down to the reasons the reasons could be” repeats the same idea, while “To time line this” does not clearly signal the shift to research methods. The long opening paragraph also combines the reasons and methods before these are developed separately. Use more precise transitions and ensure pronouns such as “this” and “that” have clear references. A more focused topic sentence at the start of each body paragraph would improve progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “construction,” “legal issues,” “purchasing advertisement,” and “local shop owners,” and you attempt some less common expressions. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, which limits precision: “in some parts of globe,” “dig more down,” and “time line this” do not express the intended meanings naturally. There are also spelling errors such as “precosions,” “advertisment,” “adress,” and “indivisual.” These do not prevent the reader from understanding the general message, but they reduce clarity and control. Build a more accurate range of phrases for property research, and check spelling and collocations carefully during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses with “as” and “while,” and the overall meaning is usually understandable. However, grammatical control is inconsistent, particularly in articles, verb forms, agreement, and sentence boundaries. For example, “the place is build” should use a past participle, and “people who live in same area” needs an article before “same area.” In “another reason could be to know what legal issues this has faced,” the tense and reference are not well controlled. Some sentences run on, especially the sentence beginning “If we dig more down,” and punctuation around the list of reasons is awkward. Practise accurate clause construction and review articles, verb forms, and punctuation in longer sentences.
