Student answer (Band 5.0)

In some countries more and more people are becoming interested in finding out about the history of the house or building they live in.In ancient time architects were very skilled and inteligent. They build every structure for there own use and also have their own features. They construct different types of houses, castles, bulding etc. There purpouse could be different like for storage, for protection from enemies and protection from weather. And they also build Different types of attractive statues which are very deatiled and hard to crave. In buildings likes palaces or castle they make traps for protection. Also build secrect pathways for reaced if enemy got inside the buldings.Example for bulding is the pyramid. In that ti e there were no technology to pull or took high weighted rocks and blocks also the blocks are also cutted sharply without any techology. There are many doors in pyramid but there is only one door which goes to treasure or grove of the king. This types of buldings drove attnetion of peoples. So because having this type of ideas, working and innovation this could be as reason of interest among people. The person who wants to research on these bulding and house can read many ancient books where they got decription about making building and houses or they can go to an archiologist who are reseaching or have knowlodge about this. There is also another way which is internet. In todays time people can search on internet and can get many information from it.They can read reserchs which had already done or which are going to be done. They can read studies of scientist, researcher and also can read ancient stories to get infromation about it

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You attempt to address both questions: you suggest that people are drawn to historic buildings because of their unusual design and construction, and you mention books, archaeologists and the internet as research sources. However, the reasons are only partly relevant to why residents want to learn about their own homes; most of the discussion focuses on ancient structures such as pyramids, castles and palaces. The research methods are listed but not explained with practical detail or examples. The response also falls one word short of the 250-word minimum: it contains 249 words, excluding the copied prompt wording. To strengthen the response, explain personal motivations—such as curiosity about previous occupants or renovation plans—and show how records or local archives can help investigate a specific property.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is a basic sequence from possible reasons to research methods, and linking expressions such as “So,” “also” and “There is also another way” help signal connections. However, the response is presented as one long paragraph, so the two parts of the task are not clearly separated. Ideas often run together, particularly in the extended description of pyramids, and several transitions are repetitive or unclear. For example, “This types of buldings drove attnetion of peoples” does not clearly connect the architectural details to residents’ interest in their own homes. Use separate paragraphs for reasons and research, and organise each around a clear main point followed by explanation and an example. Clearer referencing would also help readers follow the argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt some topic-related vocabulary, including “protection,” “secrect pathways,” “archiologist” and “research,” and the reader can generally identify the subject. However, the range is limited and many spelling and word-choice errors make the writing difficult to read smoothly, such as “inteligent,” “purpouse,” “deatiled,” “cutted” and “infromation.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise: “drove attnetion of peoples” and “high weighted rocks” do not express the intended ideas clearly. Aim to learn accurate forms and collocations, and choose vocabulary directly related to researching a home, such as property records, previous owners and local archives. Proofreading for spelling would make your ideas much clearer.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You communicate mainly through simple statements and make some attempts to connect ideas with longer structures, for example, “because having this type of ideas, working and innovation this could be as reason of interest among people.” However, this sentence is not grammatically complete or clearly structured, and many sentences contain errors in verb forms, agreement, articles or sentence boundaries. Examples include “They build every structure,” “they also build Different types,” and “There are many doors in pyramid.” The opening also runs directly into the next sentence without a space or clear punctuation. Practise forming complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check tense consistency and singular/plural forms. A few accurate complex sentences would improve range without sacrificing clarity.
