Student answer (Band 6.0)
In today's competitive world, many people are busy with their full-time jobs to build their stronger career. Several people are working long hours and they do not have left enough time for their hobbies. I believe, this tend has more negative impacts than a positive. I will also give some relavent example in upcoming paragraphs.
On the one hand side, working additional hours can improve's people finacial situations because employees who work overtime earn more money. Which allows them to manage their expanses, save money and provide better living conditions for their families. Moreover, they will get more opportunities to improve career. For example, working an extra hours may help people get more experience, which will help them grow easily. Therefore, people could become more financially stronger and they can help their families.
On the other hand, long working hours can casue stress, exhaustion and health problems. they may also facing problems to manage their professonal and personal responsibilities because they feel mentally tired, and they do not have time for their families, children and leisure activities. For example, my cusion used to worked for long hours due to which she had facing a lot of health issues. Moreover, they might be come less productive for balancing their regular responsibilities. Therefore, after soem time they will not have an energey to compete with others.
In concoulsion, although working long hours can increase income and provide career benefits, working excessively long hours has more disadvantages beacause it negatively affects people health, relantionships and overall quality of life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction—“more negative impacts”—and remains consistent in the conclusion. You address both sides of the question: higher income and career opportunities are weighed against stress, health problems, and reduced family and leisure time. The personal example about your cousin also supports the disadvantages. This meets the task well, while showing some of the stronger development expected at the next level. However, the advantages paragraph is less fully explained: “more experience” and career growth are asserted without showing how these benefits compare with the costs of lost leisure. The conclusion also repeats the main points rather than drawing them together. Develop each key idea with a clearer explanation of its impact and make the comparison behind your judgement more explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The response has a clear overall progression: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present opposing sides, and a conclusion restates your judgement. The contrast between “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” helps readers follow the argument, while examples are placed in relevant paragraphs. This is a logical and effective structure. To make the progression more polished, use transitions that show the relationship between ideas rather than relying mainly on standard signposts. For instance, the advantages paragraph moves from income to career growth without explaining the connection, and “Therefore” repeats the preceding point rather than advancing it. Some sentence boundaries and paragraph spacing also interrupt the flow. Clearer links between claims, explanations, and examples would make cohesion more flexible.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “overtime,” “financial situations,” “health problems,” “responsibilities,” and “quality of life.” These choices allow you to discuss both economic benefits and personal costs. However, the range and control are limited by repeated general words such as “people,” “time,” and “problems,” as well as noticeable spelling and word-choice errors: “tend,” “relavent,” “finacial,” “expanses,” and “professonal.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “financially stronger” and “grow easily.” These errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your main argument, but they reduce precision and sometimes make the wording awkward. Build a more accurate range of collocations and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including a relative clause in “working an extra hours may help people get more experience, which will help them grow easily” and a concession in the conclusion. However, some sentence structures and verb forms are inaccurate. For example, “Which allows them” is a fragment, “they may also facing problems” lacks the correct verb form, and “my cousin used to worked” combines incompatible forms. There are also agreement and article errors, as in “an extra hours,” and punctuation problems where sentences run together. These errors sometimes make the reader pause, although the overall meaning remains understandable. Practise forming complete clauses and checking verb patterns, agreement, and sentence boundaries.
