Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both advantages and disadvantages, and it maintains a clear position that the disadvantages outweigh the benefits. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For example, the argument regarding 'hunger' as a reason for working long hours is not well-linked to the context of modern professional life, and the explanation of 'mood swings' is quite brief. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more logical analysis and specific, realistic examples. While the task is addressed, the depth of the argument is limited, which keeps the score at a mid-level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'to start up with' and 'however the other argument is that' are used, but the transitions between sentences are sometimes abrupt. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'it is seen that working longer hours individuals not taking the proper sleep faced more health problems'. Improving the flow between sentences and using a wider variety of linking words would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. You rely on basic terms like 'important', 'problems', and 'money'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'mood swing problems' (instead of 'mood swings') and 'become sufficient to improve their lifestyle'. You attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary, but the phrasing is often unnatural. To improve, focus on learning collocations (words that naturally go together) and using more sophisticated synonyms to express your ideas more clearly and professionally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
There is a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but the accuracy is inconsistent. You frequently omit articles (e.g., 'suffering from a hunger') and struggle with subject-verb agreement and sentence fragments (e.g., 'This very important point to discuss...'). There are also punctuation errors, such as missing commas and incorrect capitalization. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of grammatical errors throughout the text hinders the overall quality. You should focus on basic sentence construction, specifically ensuring that every sentence has a clear subject and a correctly conjugated verb.
