Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 154 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas, as the discussion remains superficial and lacks the depth required for a Band 6 or higher. While the prompt asks for a balanced view on whether the situation has more advantages or disadvantages, the response is underdeveloped and lacks a clear, sustained position. The inclusion of a specific personal anecdote about 'Ahmad Ali' is relevant, but the overall argument is not sufficiently extended or supported to address the task fully.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
The essay lacks a clear structure. There is no introduction or conclusion, and the paragraphing is non-existent, which makes the progression of ideas difficult to follow. Cohesive devices are largely absent or misused, such as the abrupt transition in 'one is the person i know him very well'. The lack of logical sequencing between the personal example and the general discussion of advantages and disadvantages hinders the flow of the text. To improve, you should use clear paragraph breaks and linking words like 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'on the other hand' to connect your ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.5
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, which limits the ability to convey complex ideas. Phrases like 'make extra money' and 'best life' are simplistic. There are also errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'contnuining the work' and 'struggle in life'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to demonstrate the flexibility required for higher bands. You should focus on learning topic-specific collocations related to work-life balance, such as 'financial stability', 'professional burnout', or 'diminishing returns', to enhance the sophistication of your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement ('people who works', 'Ahmad Ali not go'), missing articles, and incorrect verb tenses. Punctuation is also problematic, with many sentences lacking proper capitalization and spacing after periods. The range of structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, including correct verb forms and punctuation, before attempting more complex structures.
