Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is undeniable fact that, many individuals work for long period and leave a less time for their leisure things in which they feel happy. I strongly believe that this situation has more negative effects compared to positive. This essay will explain why I support this view point.
There are several reasons why I hold this opinion. Firstly, it creates a frustration in one's life. They started hating themselves or having some family issues due to this problem.
Secondly, if they give more time in their work they will get bored in their normal life as you need some break from your monotonous life. For instance; government should start providing more vacation hours for employees who are doing full time jobs or business and start taking a lecture of explains how to give more time in leisure activities which helps you to motivate in your life.
Admittedly, supporters of the opposing view argue that while doing work for long hours will benefits you in finical situation. A part from that, helps you to prove yourself and to become a powerful businessman in the world. But at same time you regret your life as you don't do that thing which makes you really happy. For example; Akshay Kumar an actor who always do long hour jobs but at end he makes a time in morning to do physical activities that makes him fit and happy so for him leisure time is that spend a good time in gym and yoga.
In conclusion, there are many negative impacts than positive for this incident but I firmly believe that giving a good time for your leisure activity is not a bad thing in a life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that long working hours have more negative effects. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention frustration and boredom, these points are not fully explored or supported with deep analysis. The example regarding Akshay Kumar is relevant but slightly confusing in its execution, as it focuses more on his personal routine than the broader societal implications of the prompt. To improve, ensure that each body paragraph provides a more thorough explanation of the 'why' behind your arguments, rather than listing them briefly. The conclusion is also quite brief and does not effectively summarise the main points discussed in the body paragraphs.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use basic cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'In conclusion' to signal transitions. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and some linking phrases are used incorrectly, such as 'A part from that' instead of 'Apart from that'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the second paragraph where the transition from the problem of boredom to the suggestion for government intervention feels abrupt. Improving the variety of cohesive devices and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would elevate the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'monotonous', 'vacation hours', and 'financial situation'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'leisure things' instead of 'leisure activities', 'creates a frustration' instead of 'causes frustration', and 'do long hour jobs' instead of 'work long hours'. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding repetitive or overly simple phrasing. Expanding your range of academic vocabulary would also be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Common issues include article misuse ('a less time', 'a frustration'), subject-verb agreement ('They started hating', 'always do long hour jobs'), and punctuation errors, such as the misuse of semicolons and commas. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, particularly subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles, before attempting more complex structures. Proofreading for these common slips would significantly improve your accuracy.
