Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response is significantly under the required word count of 250 words, reaching only 98 words. This failure to meet the minimum length requirement severely impacts the ability to develop ideas, resulting in a fragmented and incomplete response. While the prompt asks for a discussion on advantages and disadvantages, the essay is cut off abruptly after introducing only one point. The position is not fully developed, and the supporting evidence is insufficient. To improve, you must expand your arguments with detailed explanations and relevant examples to meet the length requirement and provide a balanced view.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks a clear structure due to its brevity. While there is an attempt at an introduction and a body paragraph, the logical progression is interrupted by the premature ending. Cohesive devices are used in a mechanical way, such as 'Analyzing the statement and explaining further', which feels unnatural. Paragraphing is present but insufficient to demonstrate a clear flow of ideas. To improve, ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and that ideas are linked logically using a variety of cohesive devices, such as 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'on the other hand'.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and contains several errors in word choice and collocation. For instance, 'precedence advantage' is incorrect; 'primary advantage' would be more appropriate. The phrase 'loss their social circle' is grammatically incorrect and lacks precision. There is also a misuse of 'effects' as a verb instead of 'affects'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas effectively. To improve, focus on learning collocations and using more precise academic vocabulary rather than relying on simple, repetitive phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Examples include 'Although, this development offers...' (incorrect comma usage), 'continuously working for long will not only effects our health' (incorrect verb form and word choice), and '75% of population were mentally ill' (missing article). The sentence structures are mostly simple or contain errors when attempting complexity. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct word forms, and the proper use of articles. Practicing complex sentence structures like conditional clauses or relative clauses will also help increase your score.
