Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this generation where everyone wants to become successful as they are growing up and taking responsibilities for their families. Therefore, they are only giving priority to work more and get more money as many as they can get from working overtime but they are forgetting to give some time to their selves. It is very important to maintain your both personal and professional life accordingly. I am going to explain prons and cons in next paragraphs.
To begin with, working full time and even working overtime to complete job task is important but after doing this for long period anyone gets tired as they need a short break to spend some time with their families or friends to relax their mind. For example, i used to work seven days a week and not giving enough time to my self, but after following that schedule i noticed that i am not spending sufficient time to my body, therefore, i started doing gym and i changed my whole week schedule. Now, on weekends i am spending my time with friends going out which helped me a lot in my personal and professional life.
On the other hand, mostly people who is working overtime just because of their family condition. In middle class families, only one person is earning money because of their parents are getting older day by days, so they have to work more to full-fill their basic requirements. For instance, one of my friend , his family is not that reach so he always works overtime so he can pay monthly bills, college fees, bike expenses etc. Furthermore, some time people do not want to work more hours but their condition force them to work.
To conclude, I always give advice to my friends as well that give some time yourself, look around the world, keep your mind calm and relaxed by spending some time in other activities rather than doing job. You will get only one life to spend to enjoy each and every moment of your life joyfully.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the pros and cons of working long hours. However, the position is not clearly stated in the introduction; you mention you will explain the pros and cons, but you do not explicitly state whether you believe the situation has more advantages or disadvantages. While you provide relevant examples, such as the personal experience of working seven days a week and the financial pressures on middle-class families, the development is somewhat superficial. To reach a higher band, ensure your introduction clearly outlines your stance and ensure each body paragraph directly supports that central argument rather than simply listing points.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. You use some cohesive devices like 'To begin with', 'On the other hand', and 'To conclude' to signal transitions. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is interrupted by awkward phrasing, such as the sentence starting with 'Therefore' in the first paragraph, which is a sentence fragment. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the connection between sentences could be smoother to improve the overall readability of the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for higher bands. You rely on common, repetitive phrases like 'working more', 'get more money', and 'spend some time'. There are also some errors in word choice, such as 'full-fill' instead of 'fulfill' and 'reach' instead of 'rich'. While the meaning is clear, the range of vocabulary is limited, and there is little evidence of less common lexical items or idiomatic expressions that would demonstrate a more sophisticated command of the language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'mostly people who is working'), article usage, and sentence fragments (e.g., 'Therefore, they are only giving priority...'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While you attempt complex structures, they are often faulty. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and ensuring that your subjects and verbs agree, as these frequent errors prevent the essay from reaching a higher band.
