Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response is significantly under-length, containing only 96 words against the required 250-word minimum. Consequently, the task is not fully addressed. While you establish a clear position in the introduction, the development of ideas is severely truncated. You mention stress and physical health issues but fail to provide the necessary depth, examples, or a balanced discussion required for a Task 2 essay. To improve, you must expand each body paragraph with specific examples and logical explanations to ensure the topic is explored thoroughly. The current response is too brief to demonstrate the ability to develop an argument effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay shows a basic attempt at logical organization by using transition signals like 'First and foremost' and 'Secondly'. However, the abrupt ending and the lack of a concluding paragraph hinder the overall flow. The use of cohesive devices is mechanical, and the lack of development makes the progression of ideas feel incomplete. To reach a higher band, ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence, supporting evidence, and a concluding thought, and use a wider variety of linking words to connect your ideas more fluidly.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is functional but limited. You rely on common terms such as 'debatable topic', 'negative impacts', and 'increase the level'. While these are accurate, they do not demonstrate the range or precision required for higher bands. There are also minor errors, such as 'sitting all the in front of screen', where a word is missing. To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic collocations and topic-specific vocabulary related to work-life balance and psychological well-being.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The sentence structures are relatively simple, and there are noticeable errors in punctuation and grammar. For example, 'therefore' is used with a lowercase letter after a period, and the sentence 'sitting all the in front of screen' is grammatically incomplete. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of complex sentence structures and the presence of basic errors limit the score. Focus on using a mix of complex and compound sentences and proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, such as article usage and sentence boundaries.
