Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the advantages and disadvantages of working long hours, ultimately taking a clear position that the disadvantages outweigh the benefits. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. The arguments regarding health, such as the claim that muscles 'start contrasting' or that the body consumes 'zinc' due to lack of leisure, are scientifically inaccurate and lack logical depth. While the position is clear, the supporting evidence is underdeveloped and relies on questionable assertions. To improve, you should focus on providing more realistic and well-reasoned explanations for your points.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'Furthermore', and 'To conclude' to signal transitions between ideas. However, the flow is occasionally hindered by mechanical phrasing and some awkward transitions. For instance, the jump between the health argument and the financial advantage is abrupt. The use of referencing is sometimes unclear, and the overall progression of ideas could be smoother. To reach a higher band, ensure that your cohesive devices are used more naturally and that the logical link between sentences is consistently strong.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it is often repetitive and sometimes imprecise. You use basic terms like 'good', 'happy', and 'bad' (implied). There are also instances of incorrect word choice, such as 'multiple brains disease' instead of 'neurological conditions' or 'brain-related illnesses'. Additionally, there are frequent spelling errors, such as 'there' instead of 'their' and 'oncvery' (which is unclear). To improve, focus on expanding your range of academic vocabulary and pay closer attention to spelling and word forms to ensure your meaning is conveyed accurately.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'people is working', 'many citizen are', 'muscles starts') and incorrect pronoun usage (e.g., 'there' instead of 'their'). Punctuation is also inconsistent. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and the correct use of possessive pronouns to improve your accuracy.
