Student answer (Band 6.0)
A huge number of humans prefers to work for extended time, and not having enough time for the other curricular activities. Due to this behavior there are couple of negative impacts on the daily life. My opinion is, due to these type of circumstances disadvantages are more as compare to the advantages.
To commence with, people they prefer to work for the extended hours because of the overtime on their salaries, and some are thinking that by working long hours they will be learn the new things quickly which leads to the promotion, and increments. For instance, in Canada if you are working for long hours as compare to your regular shift hours you will be getting 1.5 times of your pay.
On the other hand, the same people they don't think about the mental, and physical wellbeing. Mental, and physical health is more important instead of getting promotions or getting overtime pay, because if one doesn't have good health they will be spending on the medicines too much. For example, a study in United States of America shows that the people who works longer shift hours they are having more chances to get heart attack, and brain stroke.
To conclude, I wanted to mention that there are monetary or a few advantages for working long hours, but the disadvantages are a lot. Human wellbeing is important as compare to the monetary benefits, so doing leisure activities are very important in the life to stay fit, and keep the health in good shape.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by identifying both advantages and disadvantages and clearly stating a position. The ideas are relevant, such as the mention of overtime pay and health risks. However, the development is somewhat limited. The argument regarding health is supported by a general reference to a study, but the explanation could be more nuanced. The conclusion is clear, but the overall development of ideas remains at a basic level, lacking the depth required for a higher band. The response covers all parts of the task, but the supporting arguments could be more thoroughly explored to demonstrate a more sophisticated understanding of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To commence with', 'On the other hand', and 'To conclude'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'people they prefer' or 'the same people they don't think'. While the progression of ideas is clear, the referencing is occasionally repetitive, and the flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and better sentence integration to avoid a choppy feel.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks range and precision. There is some repetition of basic terms like 'work', 'long hours', and 'important'. While the student attempts to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'monetary benefits' and 'wellbeing', there are errors in collocation and word choice, such as 'curricular activities' (which is contextually incorrect here) and 'increments' (used slightly awkwardly). The range is sufficient to convey meaning, but it does not demonstrate the flexibility or the use of less common lexical items expected at higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('people they prefer', 'people who works'), incorrect article usage ('the United States of America' is correct, but 'the medicines' is not), and awkward phrasing ('as compare to'). While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. A greater focus on sentence structure accuracy and the elimination of redundant pronouns would significantly improve the quality of the writing.
