Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response is significantly under the required 250-word minimum, reaching only 117 words. Because the essay is incomplete and stops mid-sentence, it fails to address the task fully. While you have identified a position—that working long hours has negative impacts—the ideas are not developed, and the essay lacks a conclusion or a balanced discussion of potential advantages as requested by the prompt. To improve, you must ensure you write at least 250 words, provide a clear introduction, fully developed body paragraphs with supporting examples, and a concluding summary. Currently, the severe lack of length and incomplete development significantly limits the score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay shows an attempt at logical organization by using transition signals like 'First' and 'Secondly'. However, the progression is interrupted because the text is incomplete. Paragraphing is present, but the second paragraph is cut off abruptly, which prevents the development of a coherent argument. Cohesive devices are used in a somewhat mechanical fashion. To improve, focus on completing your thoughts within each paragraph and ensuring that your ideas flow logically from one to the next, leading to a cohesive conclusion.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is somewhat limited and repetitive. You use phrases like 'working for longer hours' multiple times, which reduces the sophistication of the writing. There are also some errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'people are becoming workaholic' (should be 'workaholics') and 'might caught by some serious illness' (should be 'might catch' or 'might be affected by'). To reach a higher band, try to incorporate a wider range of topic-specific vocabulary related to work-life balance and health, and pay closer attention to word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of the text. For example, 'which results no time' should be 'which results in no time', and 'they might did not get time' is grammatically incorrect (should be 'they might not get time'). The sentence structure is relatively simple, and the errors in verb tense and auxiliary usage are noticeable. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence structures and proofreading for common errors like subject-verb agreement and correct verb forms after modal verbs.
