Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, clearly stating a position that the disadvantages outweigh the advantages. Ideas are relevant, such as financial stability versus health and social impacts. However, the development is somewhat uneven. The second paragraph provides good reasoning regarding inflation, but the third paragraph is less developed and ends abruptly mid-sentence, which prevents a full exploration of the points. To reach a higher band, ensure that all arguments are fully extended with clear, logical conclusions and avoid incomplete sentences that leave ideas hanging.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the body paragraphs. Cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'In addition', and 'Moreover' are used to link ideas. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly unnatural. Additionally, the final sentence is incomplete, which disrupts the flow and coherence of the conclusion. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that all sentences are completed will significantly enhance the overall structure and readability of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'financial stability' and 'inflation'. However, there are instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'expensive globe' instead of 'cost of living' or 'expensive world', and 'excessive time of amount spend'. These errors occasionally impede the precision of the message. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and idiomatic expressions related to work-life balance to sound more natural and precise.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues (e.g., 'company keep them'), article misuse, and incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'could lost bonding'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary commas and spacing issues. The most significant issue is the incomplete final sentence, which indicates a lack of control over sentence structure. Focusing on basic grammatical accuracy and proofreading for common errors like pluralization and verb tense consistency will help improve your score.
