Student answer (Band 6.0)
In my perspective , I would definitely say that people should find leisure time or resting time in their life . Because, it’s can give a very much relaxation for our mental and physical strength . However, there are people who are workaholic and chose more engaging in work rather than in finding time for themselves. Here , I’ll be expressing my views regarding the people working long hours and not taking much leisure time for themselves.
On one hand , about the only advantages I can see in this context is that, people can earn more money by working long hours and without spending any time for their own purposes or for rest . For example, in Canada or in any of the foreign countries most of the international students will do part time jobs to earn for there next semester fees . At that time if they are having vacation, there are students who works in more than two working places . And it will definitely help them out for saving fees and to pay loans if they have . They will not be having much leisure time for taking rest .
On the other hand ,there are more disadvantages as well. People who are working continuously have possibility of health issues . It can cause either mental or physical problems. For example, there are many IT employees who are just sitting in front of their computers and laptops, from morning till night which is going to effect there health by causing obesities and also their mental stability due to high pressure in the working place .
In conclusion , I will prefer more to be conscious regarding our health conditions rather than making more money . So, my opinion in this context is clearly conveying about the disadvantages of not having leisure time for people who works long hours .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the advantages and disadvantages of working long hours and having little leisure time, fulfilling the core requirements of the task. A clear position is established in the conclusion, expressing that the disadvantages outweigh the advantages. The ideas presented are relevant, such as financial benefits for international students versus physical and mental health issues like obesity and high pressure. However, the development of ideas tends to be somewhat superficial and relies heavily on anecdotal examples like international students and IT employees. While all parts are addressed, the depth of exploration corresponds to a Band 6.0 level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is divided into logical paragraphs with an introduction, two body paragraphs (one for advantages, one for disadvantages), and a conclusion, which provides a coherent overall arrangement. Cohesive devices such as 'On one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion' are utilized to structure the response. However, referencing is occasionally imprecise, and some sentences feature clunky transitions or repetitive phrasing ('leisure time for taking rest'). Paragraphing is appropriately handled, but the progression within paragraphs feels slightly mechanical at times, aligning the text with a Band 6.0 descriptor.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to communicate everyday concepts regarding work and health. There are attempts to use less common items and phrases such as 'workaholic', 'stability', and 'conscious regarding our health conditions'. However, noticeable word choice and collocation inaccuracies are present, such as 'cries for resting time', 'for there next semester fees' (where 'their' is also misspelled), and 'obesities'. These minor lexical errors and spelling mistakes do not impede communication, placing the response solidly in the Band 6.0 category.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as conditional and relative clauses. However, frequent grammatical errors and punctuation issues persist throughout the text. Examples include spacing errors around punctuation ('In my perspective , I'), incorrect verb forms ('it's can give'), homophone confusion ('there' instead of 'their'), and awkward phrasing ('which is going to effect there health' where 'affect' is intended). Although these errors do not completely obscure the meaning, they are frequent enough to prevent the grammar score from reaching Band 6.5, making Band 5.5 a fair reflection of control.
