Student answer (Band 6.0)
Undoubtedly, in this fast-paced economy, it is an arduous task to spare some time for leisure activities. Although, the working hours are flexible, but people still face difficulties to manage sometime for themselves. This essay will explain how this trend has more demerits than merits.
To begin with, the working class these days are facing a lot of health issues just because of long sitting time. As a result, they face back pain and problems with poor posture, and they also become obese. As we all know, obesity is the root cause of various chronic diseases like heart disease, diabetes, and to name a few. In western countries, there is a trend of working flexlble shifts, so the number of deaths from hear attacks are moree in such nations.
In addition, long working hours not only disturbs a person physically but mentally as well. If employees do not take part in fun activities then they feel stressed. By participating in Yoga, swimming, and dance individuals can unwind their stress; no doubt it is for a short period, but it has a long-lasting impact. According to a recent study, it was found that people who do regular leisure activities are more focused because they do not have a heap of stress and tension in their minds.
In conclusion, giving less time spare time activities not only harm the physical well being but also affects mental health of workers. As a result, employees may fall ill which is not good for both the organization as well as for staff.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the advantages and disadvantages of long working hours, ultimately taking a clear stance that there are more demerits. The ideas presented are relevant, focusing on physical and mental health consequences. However, some areas lack full extension and development. For instance, the second paragraph mentions chronic diseases and cites a general claim about western countries and heart attacks, but it could have benefited from a more specific or fully elaborated personal example. The conclusion adequately summarises the main points. Because all parts of the prompt are addressed and a consistent position is maintained, this performance aligns well with Band 6.0 descriptors.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. Progression is visible through the use of standard cohesive markers such as 'To begin with', 'In addition', and 'In conclusion'. However, paragraphing and referencing can occasionally feel somewhat mechanical. For example, the sentence 'As we all know, obesity is the root cause of various chronic diseases like heart disease, diabetes, and to name a few' contains a flawed cohesive structure ('and to name a few'). Furthermore, paragraph transitions are standard rather than sophisticated. This places the response firmly in Band 6.0.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The writer attempts less common vocabulary such as 'arduous', 'obese', and 'unwind', demonstrating an adequate range for the task. However, there are several lexical and spelling errors that affect precision. Examples include 'flexlble' instead of 'flexible', 'hear attacks' instead of 'heart attacks', and the awkward phrase 'giving less time spare time activities'. Collocations are sometimes unnatural, such as 'manage sometime for themselves' instead of 'find some time'. While these errors do not impede overall communication, they prevent the score from reaching a higher band, making Band 6.0 an accurate reflection of the student's lexical control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over grammar. However, there are notable grammatical and punctuation errors throughout the text. In the second sentence, the pairing of 'Although' with 'but' creates a redundant and ungrammatical structure ('Although, the working hours are flexible, but people...'). Additionally, subject-verb agreement and article usage are occasionally faulty, as seen in 'the working class these days are facing' and 'harms the physical well being'. Punctuation is also slightly intrusive with unnecessary commas. Because errors occur frequently alongside correct structures and do not entirely impede comprehension, a Band 6.0 is awarded.
