Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You address the topic by mentioning the benefits of leisure, such as feeling refreshed and improving work productivity, and the pressures that can make long hours necessary, illustrated through a family caring for a child with a serious condition. However, the response does not clearly answer whether long working hours have more advantages or disadvantages: “it would be equally priortize” is unclear, and the conclusion, “In conclusion, priortize your,” is unfinished. The discussion therefore remains partial, with the example taking up much of the response without clearly linking back to the comparison in the question. The response is also 10 words below the required minimum. State your position directly, develop both sides in relation to that position, and complete the conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is an attempt to organise the response into paragraphs and use linking expressions such as “In my opinion,” “On the other side,” and “In conclusion.” The example about the family also gives the discussion a recognisable focus. However, progression is difficult to follow because the opening position is unclear, the transition “On the other side However, On the other side” is repeated, and the final paragraph stops before completing its point. Several ideas are crowded into one long paragraph, while links such as “Accordingly” do not clearly show how the example supports the argument. Use one clear topic sentence per paragraph, remove repeated transitions, and connect each example explicitly to your view.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “productivity,” “leisure activity,” “financial condition,” and “physical therapy,” and the specific medical example shows an effort to use precise terms. However, the range is limited and many word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making meaning difficult to understand: “struggling high towards their work life,” “more merits compare to non merits,” and “feeding and take care their family.” Spelling errors such as “priortize,” “oppurtunity,” and “suitation” also reduce clarity. Build a reliable set of phrases for discussing work-life balance and practise using them in accurate combinations, rather than relying on repeated or unclear expressions.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some longer sentences and subordinate clauses, for example, “because of this reason people work hard for long hours” and the sentence describing the child’s condition. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors in sentence structure, verb forms, agreement, articles, and punctuation frequently make the message hard to follow. Examples include “Everyone life is not same,” “their child have,” and “they cant even afford a basic needs.” The opening sentence also lacks a clear grammatical structure, and the conclusion is incomplete. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with clauses using “because,” “although,” and “which.” Check subject–verb agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries during editing.
