Student answer (Band 6.0)
speding one's free time in doing things that make you happy or relaxed is a kind of secret mental therpay which is quite needed in this era. mainly because of how tough and how much crammed up the entire schedule is due to work. i believe leaving very little space for leisure activities have more cons than the advantages.
starting of with the advantages, the work that is needed to be done by the end of the day get completed very early leaving a person to do other works. Ff there are any over time pay facility in a company that a person work in, they can get extra finances along with their respected pay, which is a very important in this time of inflation. Furthermore, a person can learn mulitple different things apart from their quest from spending time with collegues in other department. To explain it more neatly, a person who has his way around the comapny and have a know how about their collegues work, there shall not a delay in getting things done in the absence or shortage of staff.
Whereas on the other hand, the disadvantages include immense mental pressure in order to get things done. This can lead to several health issues, many researches have claimed that spending too much time working or sitting in one position and not giving yourself a break can lead to back pain, hairfall, short or long sightedness along with other health issues. Not only that, it can also affect your relationship with your family/ friends if decide on working long hours. This can lead to misunderstandings, arguments which is again not helpful for mental health.
Having a balance scedule for work and leisure activites is very important in order to lead a healthy and good life. Anything that's been done excessively comes with it's own hazards.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction: you believe the disadvantages of long working hours outweigh the advantages, and the conclusion reinforces the importance of balance. You address both sides with relevant points, including extra pay and workplace familiarity as benefits, and health and relationship effects as drawbacks. This covers the task well. However, some ideas are more fully explained than others: the health consequences are illustrated with several examples, while the claim that knowing colleagues’ work prevents delays is difficult to follow and needs a clearer explanation. To strengthen the response further, develop each main point with a specific example or a more explicit link to why it matters, while keeping your overall position consistent.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph presenting advantages, a paragraph on disadvantages, and a concluding statement. The contrast between the two main body paragraphs is easy to recognise, and phrases such as “Furthermore” and “Whereas on the other hand” help signal relationships between ideas. Some connections are nevertheless mechanical or unclear. For example, “starting of with the advantages” is an awkward opening, and the explanation about knowing colleagues’ work does not progress clearly from the preceding point. The final paragraph is also brief and introduces a general principle rather than summarising the main reasons. Use clearer topic sentences and make each supporting sentence explicitly connect to its paragraph’s central idea.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “mental pressure,” “inflation,” “misunderstandings,” and “health issues,” which helps communicate the main ideas. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause: examples include “speding,” “therpay,” “mulitple,” and “comapny.” Several phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, such as “secret mental therapy,” “respected pay,” and “learn multiple different things apart from their quest.” This limits the precision and flexibility of the vocabulary, even though the intended meaning is often recoverable. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations for work, pay, leisure, and health; choose straightforward, accurate expressions rather than unusual combinations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a conditional structure beginning “If there are any overtime pay facility” and a complex sentence about the effects of long hours on relationships. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence construction sometimes make meaning difficult to follow. For instance, “the work … get completed” needs subject–verb agreement, while “a person that a person work in” contains an unclear clause and incorrect verb form. In “if decide on working long hours,” the subject is missing. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly formed supporting clause, then check agreement and whether every clause has a subject and verb.
