Student answer (Band 6.0)

People do varied kinds of activities in their day to day life. Admittedly, mostly individulas indulge in work for long time that leaves them with no spare time for recreational activities. In my opinion, these have equvalent favourable and unfavourable outcomes those i will explain in the next peragraphs.

As far as the positive side of doing work whole day are concerned the predominant one is that, working category intend to explore their potential on professional front and want to grab wider range of employemnt opportunities with good salary so that can give bright future to their family. Another noteworthy point of consideration is that, the burgeoing inflation is one of the another reason to make worker to work from dawn to dusk to fullfill the longing aspirations of their life. Furthermore, many jobs are these day targeted based that require lot of time and dedication to meet all the requirement at workplaces so that can get better salary pakages.

On the other hand, the disadvantages of doing too much work cannot be underestimated as it can create a sedentary life style as people do not have any physical activiteis resulting to make people obese by leaving them with no leisure time for themselves. On top of it, working long hours can widen the gap with their own family members owing to less time for them and they are unable to share the emotional feelings with each others. Last but not least. working long shifts also resist the employees to get social exposer, therefore they can not celebrate the rituals and traditions with their beloved onces those are essiential to keep the cultural alive and kicking.

To recapitualte, I would recommneded that people should adopt sagacious approach towards doing work by keeping the importance of others activities into consideration in order to gain hoslistic growth with resplendent walk of life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both sides of the question and give a clear overall position: the introduction says the advantages and disadvantages are “equivalent,” while the conclusion recommends balancing work with other activities. The body paragraphs include relevant points about income and career opportunities, health, family relationships, and social life. However, the position is not fully consistent: the conclusion does not clearly reaffirm that the two sides are equal or directly answer which side has more advantages. Some ideas also need fuller explanation. For example, the link between long hours and “better salary packages” is asserted rather than illustrated, and the health and family effects would be stronger with a specific example or clearer explanation of their consequences.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for advantages and disadvantages, and a conclusion. The progression from work-related benefits to personal costs is easy to follow, and signposts such as “On the other hand” and “Furthermore” help guide the reader. This meets the lower-band expectations securely and shows some features of stronger organisation. To make the progression more consistently smooth, avoid formulaic or awkward transitions such as “Last but not least” followed by a sentence fragment, and make references more precise: “these” in the introduction does not clearly identify what it refers to. The conclusion should also connect explicitly to the stated position so the argument feels fully unified.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of vocabulary relevant to work and its effects, including “professional front,” “inflation,” “sedentary lifestyle,” and “emotional feelings.” However, the range is not always controlled: several choices are unnatural or unclear, such as “working category,” “targeted based,” and “social exposer.” Spelling errors—including “individulas,” “employemnt,” and “recapitualte”—are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause. Some phrases also use more words than needed, for example “the importance of others activities.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations before choosing elaborate vocabulary; this will make your meaning clearer and demonstrate a more dependable range.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple statements and longer sentences with clauses, for example the sentence beginning “On the other hand” explains several consequences of long working hours. However, control is uneven, and some sentence patterns make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. In “the predominant one is that, working category intend,” the clause structure and subject–verb agreement are faulty; “so that can give” also lacks a clear subject. There are article and plural problems in phrases such as “for long time” and “each others.” Punctuation needs attention too: “Last but not least.” is an incomplete sentence, and commas are often placed awkwardly. Practise building accurate clauses first, then combine them into longer sentences.
