Student answer (Band 5.0)

People who do long hours work and have very litle time for leisure are become unhealthy after some time,Because when they spend alot of time at their work place then their health is compromisd and with passage of time they become tired all the day and feel stress even at home just beacuse of more work load.

Those people may have more extra shifts at job or may be good

salary pakage of the year but unfortunately they compromised with their health and after couple of year they find that doing work all the time and having no time for leasiuer is very harmful for meantally and physical health .

My opinion is that we must have to divide time for work and leaisure in your daily routine is much important,Because if we spend limited time at work and then also have spare time for leaisure that makes us stress less and feel better in mental health

Mental health is much more important for people who do work in offices. If they donot have spare time everyday then they must have to manage their routine for having leaisure time at least on weekend .

Having time for your leisuer and hobbies always makes you feel better in both health mental and physical,So people who donnot have more time for leisure have many disadvantage through their bad mental health.

Meanwhile spending time for leisure and other healthy activities makes you active and healthy during the day.So you can focus on your work more properly.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You take a clear position that the disadvantages outweigh the advantages, focusing on harm to mental and physical health. Relevant points include feeling tired and stressed at home, and the possibility that leisure and hobbies help people feel healthier and focus better at work. However, the response addresses the comparison only partially: the possible benefits of long hours are briefly mentioned as extra shifts or a good salary, but not explained or weighed against the disadvantages. Several health claims are repeated rather than developed with a specific example or explanation. To strengthen the response, explain one or two consequences in more depth and directly compare them with the financial or career benefits before concluding.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has some paragraphing and a generally understandable focus, moving from the effects of long hours to the value of leisure and a concluding benefit for work. However, the progression is not consistently clear: the second paragraph introduces salary benefits, but the essay does not develop this point before returning to health. Ideas about mental and physical health recur in several paragraphs, so the argument feels repetitive rather than progressively developed. Linking words such as “Because,” “Meanwhile,” and “So” are used, but some connections are awkward or do not clearly show the relationship between ideas. Organise the essay around distinct points—advantages, disadvantages, and your comparison—and use clear references and transitions between them.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “leisure activities,” “extra shifts,” “work load,” “mental health,” and “hobbies.” These choices make your main concerns understandable. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “health,” “time,” and “leisure.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice problems, such as “leasiuer,” “meantally,” “salary pakage,” and “stress less,” which can distract the reader. Some expressions are not natural in context, including “tired all the day” and “disadvantage through their bad mental health.” Build a wider set of accurate collocations and check spelling so your ideas can be expressed more precisely.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with reasons, for example, “Because if we spend limited time at work and then also have spare time for leisure…” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors sometimes make the relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Examples include “People who do long hours work … are become unhealthy,” “we must have to divide time,” and “If they donot have spare time everyday then they must have to manage their routine.” These show problems with verb forms, sentence construction, and agreement. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with run-on sentences and commas placed where full stops are needed. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly connected reason or condition, then check verb forms and punctuation.
